I made my first trip to the BLT as an owner back in December. Had a nice 8 night stay in a MK view studio on the 11th floor. The room was nice, but as others have mentioned it was a bit awkward having the bathroom sink in the kitchen instead of the bathroom. The MK view was also not as good as those I've had at the CR. It was more of a CR view. We were the second room from the south elevator. While convenient for access to the sky bridge, we couldn't see the MK unless we went outside on the balcony. Next time I will request to be closer to the North elevator, as they should provide a better view.

I also missed being in the tower. While some don't like the hustle and bustle, I just love being in the original building the monorail goes through :) What I did enjoy was access to the top of the world lounge. While I longed by day to be in the CR tower, I felt like a ViP at night, hanging out in this beautifull lounge! In the end, I felt like I made the right decision buying into BLT. It will allow me to make trips ever year to a MK view room, where as without it I could never justify the cost. Only 6 more months till we head back!

Thanks for posting your review and let me ask you this. How did you feel about always going to the Contemporary when looking at the stores, going to eat at the Contempo Cafe, checking in, getting WDW transportation or needing something at the front desk? You mentioned missing the Contemporay Tower so how much did not having those things inside Bay Lake Tower effect you?

I think that all the things that you just mentioned NOT being in the BLT is making me really glad I decided to switch to the CR..... :goodvibes

I was worried at first if I made the right choice, but the more I read and the more pics I look at, I think I did...... at least till we get back to 'our' resort the AKL :lmao:

You have read my mind!! :) I feel the same way!! We are HUGE CR fans..and stayed MK Concierge level on most of our previous visits (until we bought into DVC)! Ahhhh....the ease of heading down the elevator, grabbing some food (or even a drink or two...heehee), doing some quick shopping, and heading back up!! Plus the food on the Concierge Level! That was the life!! ;) We were worried we wouldn't "feel the Magic" when staying at the new BLT. Rest assured our first visit back in April 2010 proved that we had indeed made the right choice!! And ohhhh, the TOTWL!!! :cloud9: There's absolutely nothing like it (altho the California Grill comes close)!! LOL!!

You will be happy to know that the sinks are currently being reversed so that they are in the bathroom instead of in the kitchen (where they should have been from day one of construction:confused3)!! We stayed in a 2 Bdrm MKV last year, and will be staying in a 1 Bdrm in April, followed by a Studio in May. I am very worried about what room we will get for the Studio (MKV)...sounds like you got the room furthest away from the MK (although 11th floor is pretty awesome)! I'm actually trying to switch to a 1 Bdrm MKV for our May trip (to better our chances that the room will have a better MK view)....but so far to no avail.:sad2:
I'm glad you enjoyed your stay....and thank you for your review!! See you at the BLT!!! :thumbsup2 I'll be the one on the beach looking up at the CR and the BLT doing this...:worship:.....:rotfl2:

We stayed at CR for our first family trip to Disney last year. It was fabulous...for a quick 3 day trip before leaving for a cruise out of Tampa. It was my DH and kids ( 3 and 5) first trip and it was spectactular for everybody's 1st Disney experience...much better than the cruise! The hustle and bustle....monorail...looking over the rail and seeing Minnie and Mickey at breakfast...the gift shops in the middle of hotel....walking to MK...watching fireworks from deck (even if I was the only one who stayed awake!)...counting how many colors the castle changed to throughout the night...Absolutely magical!!! The only non-magical think was having to wait until 6 AM for coffee down in the food court when making it to a 7AM rope drop- but then the CM saw me and gave me a free cup!

HOwever, now that I have converted my husband to the Disney way of vacation as opposed to the cruise, we will be staying for 6 nights this year. For a family of 4 (and me being very large and pregnant) and a MIL coming along to help, I don't know that the CR would be real comfortable for us.

So we decided on a 2 bdrm BLT. Incredibly psyched.....lots of room, some privacy from my mother with her own bedroom:thumbsup2, room to spread out, 3 tvs, 3 bathrooms, and yet still very close to all the hub-bub of the CR.

I don't think you can go wrong with either (but we love the CR too unlike some people who feel its not themed enough).

Can you tell I am getting excited about this trip?!?!?!?!?!?

We did miss having them all right outside our room, but the walk isn't that far. Also, the walk over the skybridge is somewhat of a treat itself. It offers excellent views of the MK as well as Bay lake. At night, we could preview the movie they were showing outside (it's now done between resorts instead of on the beach at CR). We also got to walk by or through the shops everytime we went to or from the monorail. The only time it was a true hassel was when I wanted to fill my resort mug. That took me about 15 minutes round trip, instead of the 5 if i was in the main tower.

You won't be the only one. I actually used the CR pool more often than the BLT pool. One of the big reasons is I just love looking up at the CR and seeing the monorails enter/exit while I relax in the hot tub. Keeps my from forgetting where i am and how lucky i am to be there :goodvibes

Ohhhhhhh yeaaaaaaaahhh!!! :thumbsup2
