Long Distance Romance

We succeeded in keeping our romance alive for the three years we were apart, during an incredibly stressful time for both of us (internship and residency).

I can't tell you how many residents we know who couldn't keep it alive while living in the same house, let alone 4 1/2 hours away. It really is something to be VERY proud of!!!

Over the years, DW and I have been apart for a few months at a time when going overseas for the Air Force, getting out, etc.

The most stressfull was living in Houston and working in Austin. I would drive up Monday morning and back on Friday evening. With a one year old at home, it was a long 2 1/2 years.

We will celebrate our 25th in Feb. Lots of hard work and happiness to get us this far.

My poor DH lived six hours away before he was my DH -- and he drove up to see me almost every weekend. We spent so much on long distance (this was pre-internet days, I'm dating myself!) that MCI sent us thank you cards on a regular basis.

I hope your romance works out as well as mine did!
