You're talking to one of the KINGS of Long Distance Love!
I'll try to keep it short:
I met my gf originally on the 'net in 2000. Angela (angiebelle) and I talked a lot using AOL and we seemed to have not too much in common except Disney, Musicals and Beauty and the Beast. We met in person May of that year, and it wasn't a very good meeting. After that meeting, I had a better understanding of who she was, and we continued to talk online. Then in 2001, she came down to Disney on the College Program. We met about 5 times durring her stay, but closer and closer we became. When she left in May of 2001, she was quite a bit sad, but things would only get better. A month later, I had to move into a new house, but I had to live in a hotel for a month before we can officially move in. No computer access! After that month, the first time I came on the computer, I then realized that she had missed me a lot, and it didn't hit me til then. In November, we finally declared ourselves an item, and she came for a week and a half on vacation in May 2002. I saw her on her spring break in March 2003. Now, next week, she will be here permanantly.
Believe it or not, this is the short version!
Long distance can be good if you are starting out that way, but if you are coming from being together to long distance for a while (which we did), it's tough, very tough! Angela and I did about 10 months of long distance from her May 2002 vacation. It was really hard to go back to doing online and phone talking. She called me almost every single day! (She had a cell phone with one flat monthly rate.) I'm telling ya, it was worth the wait.
