So, I live in Orlando and am trying to book a short trip to Disneyland in the next few weeks. I've never been (well, once when I was 3..) and don't know anything really about the area. I earned a free roundtrip flight with my JetBlue rewards, but they only fly into Long Beach Airport from Orlando. I didn't see this as an issue, except it seems there isn't really any transportation to the resort from the airport. The cheapest I could find was SuperShuttle which was $34 ONE WAY!! Blah! I don't want to spend $70 just to go less than 20 miles to get to the hotel, and renting a car would be even more than that when I wouldn't even use it. I know it's just $9 to add another person, but I'm flying in there by myself and meeting someone.

Anyone have any other ideas on transportation from the airport? Help!!

(PS.. cross posted on the transportation board)

I am sorry I can't really help, but I have looked at this a lot and have never found anything better than the super shuttle price and unfortunately flying into the slightly farther airports like LAX, Long Beach etc. (rather than John wayne which is the closest so is just a little cheaper). The only thing I can say is to check for super shuttle coupons- sometimes they have them on mousesavers.com or you can do a search for them. I would really try looking more into rental car deals, but then be aware of possible parking costs at your hotel too- but a lot of them are throwing out major deals with the economy being so bad.

Good luck- wish I could help with a real solution.

Yeah with only one person Super Shuttle is going to be the cheapest way to go. There are coupons out there that can save you a few bucks though. We always fly into LGB and take a taxi, they are a flat rate of $45 which is a good price since we had 6 people. I think you could probably take the city bus, but it would take like 2 hours or something like that...but you could check into it. You could hope and pray that someone else is flying into Long Beach at the same time and would like to split the taxi rate. :confused3
