We did the Long Bay Beach and Lunch in April 2016. In general we liked it pretty well and I have no reason not to recommend it. It's a pretty typical Caribbean beach excursion. Some notes from what we experienced:
- The ride from the Tortola Pier Park to the 1748 Restaurant is a quasi tour of the island, riding in the back of a modified pickup truck typical to Caribbean islands. There was a stop at a lookout point and it wasn't a short ride. It's also a hilly, rough ride and there was a little baby in our truck who got carsick. On the return trip, they took a less hilly loop back that seemed shorter.
- The beach was really, really nice and there were no issues with rocks that I'm aware of.
- The buffet at 1748 was pretty good, we enjoyed it. No one "free fruity rum drink" included, to my chagrin, they were charging for those. Been to other beach excursions where they at least give you one free rum drink.
- You can "access" the pool because it's right there at the facility and next to the restrooms, but you're not supposed to use it, as we found out. Some our party used the pool for quite a little bit of time until they got kicked out.
