We like going to Lonestar once in a while. The food is always good and there's rarely a wait to get seated. The servers are almost TOO attentive, but we would never complain to them about that.
Last night we went and they brought out a loaf of bread. DH pulled the knife out of the bread and it looked like it had been used before and encrusted with food -- it definitely wasn't from the bread. DH was all grossed out and was going to mention it to our server; no big deal. Then he saw a hair in the butter, and it was IN the butter, not just lying across the top of it.
The manager was walking by, so we grabbed him and showed him -- all the while being friendly and joking with him about it. By no means acting angry or put out. We just wanted our bread and butter replaced.
A couple of minutes later, the manager came out with our server and handed us a gift card for $30 and had new bread for us. We certainly didn't expect anything free out of the deal, but we appreciated it! We ended up not using the card last night, but said we'd be back with it.
Anyway, just wanted to share a story of a restaurant doing something great for the customer. We normally only hear the bad.
