We like going to Lonestar once in a while. The food is always good and there's rarely a wait to get seated. The servers are almost TOO attentive, but we would never complain to them about that.

Last night we went and they brought out a loaf of bread. DH pulled the knife out of the bread and it looked like it had been used before and encrusted with food -- it definitely wasn't from the bread. DH was all grossed out and was going to mention it to our server; no big deal. Then he saw a hair in the butter, and it was IN the butter, not just lying across the top of it. :scared:

The manager was walking by, so we grabbed him and showed him -- all the while being friendly and joking with him about it. By no means acting angry or put out. We just wanted our bread and butter replaced.

A couple of minutes later, the manager came out with our server and handed us a gift card for $30 and had new bread for us. We certainly didn't expect anything free out of the deal, but we appreciated it! We ended up not using the card last night, but said we'd be back with it.

Anyway, just wanted to share a story of a restaurant doing something great for the customer. We normally only hear the bad.

That makes you wonder if someone tried to reuse the bread and butter!:scared1:
Glad they made everything right for you though.:thumbsup2

I was laughing and asking him, "How do you know they didn't bring out the same bread?" He's quite a bit smarter than me. He said, "I marked the bread." :thumbsup2

He tore a big chunk out of the bottom of the bread. :rotfl2:

I'd have been skeeved, yet okay with the knife. The hair in the butter would've been the deal breaker.

They did good for us several years ago too.... it took them like 2-3 times to get DH's steak done right. And the manager took it off the check and I think our appetizer as well.

But last time we went the service was very poor, they pretty much brought all our food out at once, when we asked them to wait. We did that 3 peice deal (appetizer, salad, and entree), and we'd had like 1/2 our appetizer when the salads came. And my DH had barely cut it up and taken a bit when the food came out.

It's always so nice when you get good service in a resturant. :thumbsup2

Good to hear they made things right for you! Lonestar's one of my family's "staple" restaurants, too.
