I really dont think that this is going to be a problem but i would just like a little reassurance. Im travelling to DISCON alone and Im thinking of using a tiffany towncar to get from the airport to my hotel (via publix :D ) on my first night. I won't get out of the airport until about 21:15, do you think there is a safety issue here? Should I put a my DH name on the booking too even though he wont be travelling with me?

I know that this is a VERY good company, & im not doubting them at ll - its just the first time i will of travelled alone and need a little reassurance.

Thanks

Emma

Give us a try. We ARE the Sponsors of the transportation boards. We try a little harder to help you! ºoº ºoº ºoºhttp://www.Yourride.net

I think a limo/car service is the safest way to go. Someone will meet when you get to baggage claim & stay with you until you get to the door of your hotel (except in publix :D ). With a rental car you'll have to trek out to the lot or wait for the shuttle by yourself & that wouldn't be much fun. Mears could take a long time.

I have no doubt that the companies used by DISers have reputable employees!

You'll have no problems. I believe Yourride.net has a female driver, my guess is that they'd be more than happy to have her pick you up if it would make you more comfortable.

Groosch Emma!

You'll be fine!

But if you want extra assurance, just bring along a bottle of this

to bribe the driver!

(I'm kidding!)

Emma, I have also traveled alone to Disney with a flight that got in late. I used TTC (6 times!) and it was wonderful to arrive at that hour and have someone waiting for me and to help with the lugage. Stick with TTC Emma, you won't regret it!

I too would say that towncars are safe. Happy Limo has female drivers, as we have had them on several occasions. I'm sure that any good transportation company would honor your request if a female driver would make you feel more comfortable. Personally, I think that a towncar is the safest and most reliable way to go.

Thank you all for putting my mind at ease. I will be booking a towncar service, tiffany's I think or yourride, depending which is the best value.

Thanks Again

Hi Emma,

Another thing you could do is stay onsite at the airport overnight and get your transportation in the morning to disney. This is probably what I would do. Don't like traveling late at nite, myself.

I understand how you feel, Emma, and I agree with above posters that you are wise using a private towncar service. We're having yourride pick up our son who is travelling alone this Friday and coming in late at night (we're flying in separately). I wrote them a note basically stating my concerns, and I was quite pleased with his rapid and kind response, and he made me feel better about choosing them. If you are really concerned, I would request a female driver, too, but I agree that this board would never have a towncar service sponsor them unless they were thoroughly checked out first.
