As I always travel to DLP on my own it obviously follows that I end up in the restuarants on my lonesome too. It's the only time when I miss having company in the parks. I generally avoid the 'grander' restaurants and make do with the fast food option but I'm thinking I might like to treat myself on this trip. Can anyone recommend a good eaterie where a lone diner wouldn't feel uncomfortable? I always think you look like 'Billy no mates' sitting in state at a table all by yourself.

Nik I'm sure that you would enjoy a number of restaurants. For me Blue Lagoon looks like you would not feel awkward. The lights are nice and dim. You have POTC boats passing that you can wave to and interact with guests and CM :)

Agree with The Blue Lagoon - if you got a table by the water it would be perfect. Inventions could be good too as it's a buffet so there's no waiting time on your own, plus characters will come round and keep you company. It's also a good excuse to take a walk round the Disneyland Hotel which is quite something - the piano bar is really nice and they have some fantastic memrobilia around the hotel.

I agree with both the above suggestions ~ both times we have been to Inventions we have looked in the Fantasia Bar and there have always been people sitting in there on their own ~ whether they had just escaped to have a quiet drink on their own or were solo travellers I don't know but they most certainly didn't look Billy No Mates to me.

Another suggestion is the Lucky Nugget. That's another character buffet, so yet again would avoid the need to sit at the table waiting to be served, plus being a sole diner you would probably be seated at one of the horse-shoe shaped terraces (don't know how else to describe it :confused3 ) rather than a table. We sat at one of these last time we were there and it was fantastic, much better than a table near the buffet where you do get rather jostled. You get a great view of the floor area so can watch the character interaction from above plus (best thing IMO :goodvibes ) as you are all sat in a row there is no way the characters can miss you out!

I'd certainly planned to have a look at the Pink Palace. I've never had the bottle to wander in before but I'm going to give it a look this time.
