Ive just seen a bomb squad disposal truck going very fast with lights flashing up the M27 west bound

I've been watching the news all morning. You are all in my thoughts. I hope everyone is safe now.

I find it really scary that the people behind this no doubt think they are acting on behalf of their god - what a terrifying god that must be who they believe demands such barbarity. And how can we ever persuade them that this is not the right way to treat other human beings?

I think it would be useful to consider the enemy's perspective on your statement and question. I'm not sure, but I suspect that they'd question our insistence that our actions in their part of the world are justified, either by natural law or by our religious beliefs (as diverse as they may be). They'd refer to their people dying at the hands of forces that they'd claim we control, and would expect us to offer them an answer to the question you ask with regard to their actions about our own actions. They'd consider their actions far less barbarous than our actions.

I'd disagree with them, and would find our actions utterly defensible. However, looking at it through their point-of-view may help folks better understand why things like this happen, and perhaps understand why addressing the issue from the standpoint of "How can we make them realize they're bad people?" won't be effective.

As a British citizen this only strengthens my resolve to continue with life as before and not to let the terrorists win.

My original post about the effect on the dollar rate has been somewhat mis interpreted just putting forward the facts that were stated on sky news, these type of dreadful unforgiveable incidents unfortunately have further reaching effects as well as the loss of innocent lives, it was only a storm that brought the stock market to its knees the last time it crashed and the repercussions of these type of global tragedies WILL effect each one of us in financial and therefore job related and emotional matters
Sorry to anyone who took offence it was not meant to belittle the tragic news

A friend who works in Canary Wharf said that everyone in her building is saying that a suicide bomber has just been shot there.

This is such a shock after the big celebrations of yesterday with London getting the 2012 Olympics.
