London / Paris Here We Come!!! 9/2 - 9/10/11

Just finished listening to the podcast and I have to say it freaked me out a little bit. I know it's a whirlwind trip and I don't expect to have hours to linger, but if we get only 5 minutes in Westminster Abbey, I'm going to cry. Doesn't seem to be an issue from the reviews I've read of the trip on the boards, which all seem very positive. Not as worried about the food, because I can survive quite happily on croissants, cheese, and chocolates.

While ABD trips are busy and jam packed with stuff......I've never felt rushed or felt that I didnt have enough time.

I wouldnt worry.

Besides...there are way more of us than there are of "them".

What happens if we just dont get back on the tour bus? ;)

I feel really bad for Pete & Walter & Theresa, because I think it was whoever they got as the local guide. I totally did not feel rushed while on any of the tours in the Med. We did a LOT a LOT of stuff, but I felt we spent a fair amount of time at each place. We were really allowed to linger looking at the David. Same for the Sistine chapel. We had a goodly amount of time in St. Peter's Basilica; it was my choice to spend most of it taking photos of the Pieta. It's a full day, so you can't spend hours in any one place, but I didn't feel rushed.

The same has been true for the other 2 ABD's I've done. I'm not worried. And as Kevin says, if we do see it happening, they can't leave without all of us. :)

Thanks for the reassurance, Kevin and Tobi!

I borrowed a great DVD set from the library this week. It's called Monarchy: the Complete Series with David Starkey as narrator. It's 5 or 6 DVDs and covers from the Anglo-Saxon rulers to the death of Queen Victoria. I like that it shows alot of historical sites that are relevant to the narration. If you are not a history buff, it would probably bore you to tears. It was waaay too much info for my husband, who abandoned the room before the Normans invaded. I, on the other hand, would sit and watch the entire series in one marathon if I could.

FYI, for those that do not all ready know.

Holy freaking crap. I have problems justifying costs of Dooneys or Coach, let alone something worth more than a house!

But it ships the next business day.:confused3

:rotfl::rotfl:

I'm with Lori and Kate. They had also better be shipping the builders that are going to be building the house to go along with that price tag. Geez!! The sad part is that there is someone out there with ungodly amounts of money that would actually pay that much for a handbag.

You could be like Petra Ecclestone who has 10 Hermes Birkin handbags worth upwards of $65000 (for the exotic skins) each.
