London / Paris Here We Come!!! 9/2 - 9/10/11

I'm thrilled that I have my box, but I'm still waiting for my Buckingham Palace tour ticket! :scared1:

Just thought I'd mention it.

It took two separate calls to Buckingham Palace to get my tickets and book delivered.

I found the number on the website.

You might want to call.

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Mine was rather squashed, also, but the contents are all intact!!! The "media bag" is a bit larger than I though it would be. I'll probably just bring the backpack with me from one of my previous ABD's. I wonder if we're going to have the bus that we can leave stuff on like on other ABD's?

I've ordered an international power strip, various adapters, and a travel flat iron. (If anyone was still thinking about buying the flat iron, the same one that is on Travelsmith.com is WAY on sale at overstock.com!)

I'm just having the worst time making decisions on what I'm doing on my pre-days. Which means by the time I make up my mind, it will be too late to pre-order tickets. I don't know *WHAT* my problem is! (Except maybe I'm just too spoiled by ABD making all the plans for me!)

I wouldn't worry too much about the riots, they are cracking down hard here. They are just focusing on looting and arson of shops rather than going for touristy areas.

London wasn't too bad last night, it seems to have spread further north as people are just being opportunists!

Well, I'm stuck in the airport, with the baby. Since this flight is delayed, I will miss our connection, effectively not getting home until after 11pm. Looks like I might have a box to look at if I finally make it home. I bet Michael has already checked it all out. :)

I opened the box before Christy got home and then taped it back up so she could open it. :rolleyes1

I took another look at my confirmation email. It said it should take up to 16 days (outside the UK). Today technically is the 16th day, so if I don't get it today, I will be contacting them.

You do realize she reads these posts, right?

It's ok..... I've just discovered there's a Jimmy Choo outlet at Disneyland Paris! I've always wanted a pair....... :lmao: and they are less expensive than Hermes. :rolleyes1
Sigh. No Jimmy Choo's for me. This just became my new best friend:

That's what I get for telling my doctor my ankle has been hurting me & locking up on me. I don't have to wear it *all* the time, but when we're walking around a lot...

In my French lesson today I learned to say, "Je vais voir mes amies", which means "I'm going to see my friends". :goodvibes

And I have the box to prove it!

Disneyland Paris has appointed official Royal Wedding photographer

8/7/2011 8:36:00 AM

Disneyland Paris has appointed official Royal Wedding photographer, Hugo Burnand as its first-ever photographer in residence. Burnand, who snapped the big day of HRH Prince William and Catherine Middleton, will take up his first commission at the Paris resort from 12th-15th August 2011, where he will be photographing six families a day.

The appointment comes on the back of research commissioned by Disneyland Paris that revealed that 82% of UK parents miss out on capturing a family photo when on holiday, because one family member, usually the father, is at the other end of the lens. The research also found that more than half of British families do not have a single photo of the whole family from their last holiday, even though one in five family holidays are now the only time that the whole family is together.

“For me, photographing a family is all about creating and capturing a magical moment. A family photograph is a point in time in the life of that family which can be treasured forever. I am looking forward, through this commission with Disneyland Paris, to creating a unique series of family portraits,” said Burnand, who also photographed the wedding of David and Samantha Cameron, as well as likes of Victoria Beckham, Michael Jackson and other members of the Royal Family.

Ginger Taggart, Executive Marketing Director for Disney Destinations International UK said; “Photography captures the lasting memory of a holiday and is such an important part of a family’s trip. However, we understand that many families return home without having one great shot of the whole family together - so our photographer in residence is designed to help in a small way. And who better to capture the magic than Hugo Burnand, who captured the most magical moment of the 2011.”

That sounds cool, but he's only doing 6 families. I wonder if he chooses the families, or if it's a horrendously expensive extra charge that you have to make reservations for?

Mike, I'm not sure if pictures with Flattie Ian will count...
