London/Paris/DLP Trip - Details!!

I'm not sure I could have convinced DH to spend that much money anyway but I can't possibly justify being in Europe the day my daughter starts kindergarten....
I can only hope for a 2nd date in October!

Amanda

Hmmmmmm, that's right near DH's and my 10th wedding anniversary... Hmmmm... If grandma takes the kids and I sell my kidney. Hmmmm..

or if I win the lottery.

The funny thing about weather is you never know what it will be like. This is the forecast for the next couple of days in Paris. It could be hotter or colder than normal next year. Here last week we got a foot of snow and tomorrow we might break a record for the high temp.

Special details? :confused3 I thought we were just waiting for official confirmation of the dates?

For the iPhone and iPad brigade Disneyland Paris has brought out an official app, currently free on the App Store.

Thought this would whet your appetites :goodvibes

I'm going to Paris. :woohoo::banana::yay::cheer2::cool1::dance3:

I am almost finished listening to all of the old podcasts. When I saw this thread my first thought was for you. I figured you must be over the top thrilled. Have a great, great time. :) Penny

We are. I'm just guessing that this DIS ABD trip will have special things like the others. Maybe the details Pete gave included all of them (dinner w/imaginere, etc.). Either way, I can't wait!! :)

Can't stop thinking about this trip since listening to the podcast yesterday, which is insane for a number of reasons. The trip sounds so incredible, and it's been 7 years since DH and I have had more than a weekend away together. I've always wanted to go to England because of my obsession with English history and DH has always wanted to see Paris. Hmmm.....

If the travel dates are early enough in September, you can tour the State Apartments at Buckingham Palace (admission charge) during your free time.

BOY do I wish I could go. We were planning our own London/Paris trip for March 2011 and have to postpone until 2012 due to our budget.

I have a question about the priority of those who get first "dibs", if you will. I am not in a position financially to afford to go anyway, but I was just curious. Please don't take this as whining or criticizing. I really am just wondering.

Why are those who have traveled with you on an ABD before having first priority over others who waitlisted for this particular ABD?
You must have really liked those folks! :)

Thanks.

:sad2: There is zero chance we can go if the dates are in September. I have been informed that Bill has to finish up his employee reviews and deliver them in September. Also, we pay cash for all our travels and we have other trips planned next year that I am not willing to give up, as much as this trip is very enticing. Bill did some research and we can do Europe a lot cheaper on our own and bring the kids too. So, that is in the plans for the future. We will eventually get to Disneyland Paris, just not with ABD. :confused3 With all that written, I still give Bill the puppy dogs eyes on a daily basis because the trip sounds amazing. In the end, the timing is really bad for us. So, I'm having a pity party over here ... :sad1:

I will join your party. We had planned to go to London/Paris and DLP in March with the kids. But even that was too expensive this year. Saving up for next year and will have to forego all the backstage stuff. I will, however, have the benefit of hearing about the DIS trip first! Hope it doesn't make me too jealous!!

Thanks.

The folks that traveled on our previous Backstage Magic Adventures were, for all intents and purposes, the first people on the waitlist for this Adventure.

This was something that we floated as a possibility on our April and July Adventures, asking people IF we could make this happen, would they be interested in taking part in this new Adventure?

Had we had this information ready at the time we traveled, they would have been the first folks to book.

Even without many details...just the barest outline of what we wanted to do...we had people offer us their credit card information to hold their place until a deposit could be made. For security reasons, we dont keep credit card information on hand, or those folks would already be booked and deposited.

As we asked them to "commit" to traveling with us before we even had the ok from ABD, we feel it only fair that they be given the opportunity to take part in what they had a hand in planning, during the earliest stages.

Hope that clears things up.

Thanks Kevin, yes it does clear it up for me. At first blush, it was not clear that they were involved in the initial idea, so it looked like somehow they were favored. Now I understand why. I'm sure I would have jumped at the opportunity too!

Oh, someday I hope to be able to go on an ABD (or any trip!) with the Podcast crew. It clearly is a ton of fun!!! I can't wait to hear about it from all of you!

Oooo... this sounds really cool! Do you know how you arrange this? Or is it one of those you just show up for?
