DS 18 has tickets to see Iron Maiden at the O2 on 5th August and he's thinking of taking his brother 15. I thought it would be nice for all of us to go for a weekend and myself and my husband could go and see a show.

Where would be the best place to stay bearing in mind we'll be going to different places for 1 night ..... O2 and probably the theatre district. This is from someone who has never used the tube. DS18 at Kingston Uni so has been into London a few times.

Would like to do all the touristy bits the next day.

Any suggestions? Have looked at Novatel near the O2 as I can use Tesco vouchers or would it be easier to stay in the centre?

Thanks.

its a nice easy tube journey from greenwich at the o2, if you can book with tesco vouchers id do this.

The docklands light railway is really easy to use to get in and out of the city - just check there are no engineering works planned for your dates!

We stayed at the Radisson Edwardian New Providence Wharf, a couple of years ago for the 02 - it was a lovely hotel and really handy, we got a good deal on Expedia.

Hi, we live in Cnary Wharf and have been to the O2 many times. Some of those I'd recommend looking at are in the Canayr Wharf area as they tend to be reaosnable at weekends (as they are aimed at Monday-Friday business users) and good links to the west end (jubilee to oxford street in 20mins).

The o2 is about a 1min walk from the north greenwich station which is only 1 stop from canary wharf tube.

-Hilton at Canary Wharf (come out the tube at cw and turn left - be there in 5mins)
-Marriot at Cnary Wharf (come out of the tube at cw and turn right - 10min walk through canary wharf)
-Radisson above is probably a taxi ride away, but only 5mins
-Britannia Hotel at Canary Wharf

I can agree with the Canary Wharf Hilton.
We went to the O2 for a gig not last year and managed to get a great deal on this hotel. Just walked around to the station and took the Subway/Docklands light railway places

The hotel was lovely and our price included a buffet breakfast

We have stayed at a lot of different hotels all around London as DH had to go there a lot on business in the past. Our favourite is the Crowne Plaza London Docklands at Royal Victoria Dock.
