Logistics of tickets and magic bands

OK, I received a ticket in the mail that I purchased for a grown daughter who will be meeting me in WDW in a few months. I'm assuming I can now"connect" the ticket to her name on the room reservation, correct?

And if I don't want to do that and simply give her the ticket when she arrives, they can hook it up to her magic bands at the hotel desk, right? (Note: I don't want her magic band mailed to me since we live in different states).

So, if that is correct good. Now what do I have to do to NOT have them mail me her magic band?

1. You want to add the ticket number to her MyDisneyExperience account (or YOUR MDE ACCOUNT, if she is just listed only on yours).
Not "to the room" (can't be done, anyway.)

2. Nothing gets "hooked up to a MagicBand."
Everything is linked to a MDE account (including MagicBands.)

3. The MagicBand is connected to her MDE account (or YOURS, if she is just listed only on your account) and not connected to a resort.

4. You can "decline" a new MagicBand in your MDE account.
The resort can issue a new MB when she checks in.
But, it will not be "customized" for her. It will just be generic.
(If there is another way to do this, I don't know what it is.)

Just to keep things as clear as possible-


There is no reservation info, or ticket info, or credit card info,
or FP+ info "put onto" a MagicBand.

A MagicBand just contains (and weakly "transmits") a unique serial number that is used to access the information that is stored in your MyDisneyExperience computer file.

Disney can also issue ADDITIONAL MB's to a guest and each
additional band can be used for the same purposes as the first band.

The MagicBand works like the combination to a locked safe, or a key to a locked door.

The MB, itself, is not the file of info or the container of the info.
The MB just unlocks the file of info, allowing it to be accessed from your MDE account when needed.

You can decline her magic band if you are not going to want one for her. But if you want to make any fastpass reservations for her, you'll need to link and assign her ticket.
