Logistics: CM v HDDR

Hey DisFriends! We are celebrating our DS 6th Birthday in Novemeber! I have both dinner celebrations booked (HDDR and CM)- he loves both places. He wants to see MSEP in the evening. We have a 5:20pm CM dinner booked and HDDR at 4:00pm. The MSEP is only showing once at 7:00pm and we will be hoping beyond hopes to get a FP for the parade. Logistically- which is the better option for us to ensure that we can all make it to the FP area for the MSEP. Thanks in advance!!!

Those would both be extremely tight. HDDR should finish right around 6:00, which would give you about 45 minutes to boat to MK, go thru security and the gates and get to the FP area. CMs takes a minimum of an hour ( assuming you get seated on time) meaning you would be unlikely to get out until 6:20. Leaving you less than half an hour to walk to the MK and get thru security, the gates, and to the FP area. So its really a toss up, with the edge going to HDDR IF the boat was waiting when you got there..

I agree they would both be tight and I would be too stressed out to enjoy myself. I'd book a lunch at CM.

Another agree for WAY too tight on time. I second switching to lunch (later?) for CM and plan ahead for MSEP giving you plenty of time. I highly doubt you'd make either with dinner at either of these places for these times.
Boats from FW can take up to 20 min to get to pick up (I've waited trust me) and they usually go to CR first. Walking from CM's to MK is about 10 - 15 min. Add those things to your time and you might make the middle of the parade.
When using WDW transportation, I automatically add an additional 30 - 45 min to allow myself enough time to get somewhere.
