Logan airport...Preflight or Economy parking?

We usually take C&J Trailways to BOS from Portsmouth but we always hate having to wait for the bus on the trip home (since it only comes every hour) so we were thinking of driving to Boston Friday night and parking near the airport even though it would cost a little more than the C&J bus tickets.

I have a 25% off coupon for Preflight which would make it $45 cheaper than using the Economy parking lot but I'm wondering if the extra $45 is worth it for Economy parking to be closer to the airport? We'd be arriving in Boston after dark so I'm also thinking that the Economy parking lot at the airport would be a little easier to find vs the Preflight parking lot in Chelsea.

We're staying at the Hyatt so once we get to Logan we'll be taking the shuttle over to the hotel. It would be convenient to park at the Hyatt but at $32/night I don't think so!!

Just an idea here....looked up the Park'n'Fly rate at Hampton Inn for Friday night (this Friday is your date??? that is what I checked)....the rate is only $189.00 plus tax for your room and 10 days of parking. I have stayed at most of the Logan hotels....Hilton, Hyatt, Holiday Inn and the Hampton is our favorite.Nice rooms and great shuttle service...of all these hotels the longest wait for a shuttle was for Hyatt. It was very frustrating since it was so close. Check it out.....

I got the Hyatt on Priceline for $80 so we're stuck with that but thanks for the suggestion. :)

Well, directions to Economy Parking are on the airport's website www.flylogan.com. I don't know exactly where Preflight is.

Another option, since if you're coming from the Portsmouth area your most likely route will be 95 south to 1 south to 60 east to whatever the highway number is that goes past the airport - the one that also goes through the Sumner/Callahan Tunnel if you don't bear off toward the airport? About across from the Holiday Inn, so on your same side of the road, there's a Thrifty Car Rental location that ALSO offers airport parking-and-shuttle service. MUCH easier to find than anything else, especially at night if you're not familiar with the area.

Other considerations: are you sure either shuttle will drop you off AT the Hyatt? Usually they just go to the terminals; at least the person who parks the car may need to transfer from one shuttle to another, or if you choose Preflight, take a taxi.

We just used Preflight on our trip to Disney over February vacation and thought it was a breeze. It's only about 5-10 minutes from Logan and when we arrived and parked there was a shuttle right there waiting for us. Then they give you a ticket of the row etc. where you parked. When you fly back into Logan you go where they dropped you off, give them the ticket and they drop you off right at your car. Everything was very efficient. And for 9 days of parking we only paid $97 using the 25% off coupon. We will definitely use them again when flying out of Logan.

Thanks for the reply, I'll mention the Thrifty location to DH. Yeah, we know once we get to the airport we're going to have to call the Hyatt for their shuttle.

That's good to know!!;) I guess I'll leave it up to DH at this point.

Where do you get coupons for Logan?

I will be flying out of Logan in July for our trip and would love to be able to get a discount.

Thanks
Sue
