Has anyone used a decent hotel the nite before an early flight out of Logan. Did they let you leave your car...We are from Maine and can't pass up the cheap flights out of Boston...
Thanks for any help.

Hi,

We've done this twice and think it's best especially with 2 little ones, although this coming December we decided to leave at night and park at the airport.

Anyway, here's the info I have:

1. Boston-Logan Holiday Inn at #1-617-569-5250

They have park and fly and this is where we always stay. They have free parking and a free shuttle. If you join their priority club you can have a nice snack basket waiting for you and earn points/miles etc...They are pretty close! It's about $200 a night but if you factor in what it would cost to park at Logan, it's not that bad. It's an outside lot, though, that's the only down side.

2. Boston-Days Inn Saugus/Logan Airport at #1-781-233-1800
999 Broadway-Route 1, Saugus, MA 01906 US

I've never stayed here but almost did. They are at least $50 cheaper than the above hotel, but they are further away. I think their website states that they are 8 or 9 miles away, so that is their down side. I think they park your car in a garage which is a plus.

You have to call both hotels for the park and fly rate, it's not available over the Internet.

Good luck!;)

Thanks for the info. The HI sounds perfect and i will call as soon as I jump in and make those reservation. Also I know Maine and Mass are the only states who celebrate Patriots Day. Its April 15th. That does mean that school spring break will be that week? Correct? Thanks for any help. Just trying to plan way ahead...

YOU ARE RIGHT THAT IS SCHOOL VACATION THAT WEEK IN MA. ALSO CHECK THE SHERATON 4 POINTS IN REVERE. IT USED TO BE A DUMPY HOJOS BUT THEY HAVE REDONE IT AND IT LOOKS GORGEOUS. ALSO WOTRH CHECKING IN SAUGUS/MALDEN THE COURTYARD BY MARRIOTT. IF ALL ELSE FAILS YOU CAN STAY AT MY HOUSE IF I CAN GO WITH YOU LOL

Hi kkozma

This is a bit off topic but have you considered flying out of Manchester, New Hampshire? The drive from Maine would be quicker (and less stressful).

Southwest has direct flights and low prices when booked on-line.

Just a thought if you haven't booked your tickets yet...

I have thought of Manchester and I am not sure of waiting until they post their April rates. I like to get the ball rolling early enough. I probably have an irrational fear of not getting a flight. How many months in advance does SWA usually post rates? I also see you went on the cruise what did you think. Would my 13 and 10 year old enjoy?
Thanks

Hi

I believe SWA rates are posted and available for booking about 6 months in advance. Bookings are open through January right now.

And my kids LOVED the Disney cruise so much we are taking another one this coming April. DD was 13 and DS was 12 on our first cruise. The land/sea trip was an ideal vacation for kids their ages.
