We are getting ready to buy our 10 yo son new furniture. We are seriously considering a loft bed, but dh has reservations about getting one. His reservation in that when D's is 15-18 he won't like having a loft bed. Does anyone's teenager have a loft bed and what do they think of having a loft? Would they rather have a regular bed or do they really like the loft?

Ds 7 has one that he loves BUT he inherited it from his cousin that got it and loved it at 7 and hated it as he became a teenager...sooooo. Oldest DS wanted and needed a full size bed by the teen years so that might be something to think about. I love all the storage room with the loft bed but hate changing the sheets.

We are going to get him a full sized loft bed just so he does have the room to grow.

2 of my grandsons got hand-me-down loft beds. each has a normal size twin matteress and both were outgrown by teens.

When they hit HS, they want a queen sized bed all to themselves. Not a loft. But when they head to college, the first thing they do is loft their bed (to get more space in the dorm room).

Yea that's whay I was saying too! He's not going to be a big kid unless he goes through a HUGE growth spurt. A full size loft should be plenty of room for him. At least that's what I think
