LoEstrin 24

I take it. It has made my periods bearable. To be frank without being gross, I use a lot less feminine products now and my periods last only a few days. No other side effects. Actually, I might could say that I don't suffer from that edgy feeling I used to get prior to my period. Some might call it PMS, but it really was only an internal feeling of impatience and edginess.

No other side effects that I've noticed. Ask for the pharmaceutical coupon, otherwise it's expensive ($50 or $75/month, I think).

Ditto. My periods were horrible before I started taking it. They are so much better now and I don't get one every single month. I have had no side effects in the year and a half I have been taking it. Most other pills made me nauseous, this one doesn't.

They do have a coupon for it so it's only $24 a month. I was paying $40 a month before the coupon.

Anyone out there take it? Feed back, Side Effects?

Any info would be great

I have taken it for years, well, the generic version, microgestin. It has been great. I started back on them after DD was born nearly (gulp) ten years ago and for a very long time, I had little to no period. Alas, all good things must come to an end and as I am becoming peri-menopausal I am having periods more frequently.

No side effects, in fact I started it because other bcps were making me so sick.

Thank you all so very very much for your posts

I have been on it for 2 months and I have not had a period on it yet, I was on Yasmin before but that went up to $50.00 with insurance.
I am married and I 2 kids, I have taken a few ok more than a few home test, and they are all NO, I just don't know if I should stay on this or not.
Thanks again

I'm on Loestrin 24, and I also don't get my periods anymore. I stopped getting them after my second month on it, and I also freaked out because I just had my second baby, but all tests were negative (I had a blood test done at the OB's office to make sure...). My OB just said that is normal for me- it is a common side effect... a rather nice one! :) I also get no PMS on it. :yay: No other side effects to speak of.

Did you get headachs?

Did you get headachs?
I did get a few migraines the second or third month I was on it, but I didn't know if it was post-partum hormones or the Loestrin (my OB said it could be either). I only got them for about a month or so- they are completely gone now. If it was the Loestrin, it was only a temporary thing.

I took it for a couple of months, but I was extremely irritable the whole time, and my periods were worse than they usually are. It may have gotten better if I had given it more time, but I didn't wait to find out.

I have been taking it. I do get migraines from time to time the second day of my period. But the periods are lighter and shorter.

My doctor switched me to Loestrin 24Fe a few months ago and it's been great so far. My periods are much lighter and shorter. I also used to get killer migraines and awful PMS symptoms, this drug has pretty much cleared that completely up. For me the increase in cost has been well worth the not turning into the wicked queen of the east two or three days a month. :thumbsup2

I'm on it, switched over about 6 months ago as the pill prior was giving me major mood swings and acne. While my skin hasn't cleared up while on this pill I am seeing no other side effects. No headaches or anything. I'm far less moody, periods are shorter and I'm actually losing weight (but I'm also watching I what I eat ;)). The only thing is, I still get over emotional at really happy parts on tv and movies, but I don't think that's the pills' fault.

Go to the loestrin web site, you can get a coupon card from them and it should only cost you $24.00 a month. That is what I have

I've been on Loestrin 24 Fe for over a year now and love it! I barely have a period, cramping lasts less than a day and I don't have any side effects that I am aware of. I also use the discount card from the website so I only pay $24 a month.

I started it a few months ago after being on another pill. I love it!! My period lasts for one day and I'm not pms-ing anymore. On my old pill I was so irritable.

I took it for four months for ovarian cysts.
I gained 8 pounds and had some hair loss.
Did have migraines, but that is normal for me every month. No irritability- my PMS got better.

That said, I really liked how non existant my periods were.

I stopped taking it after 4 months b/c when they did a follow up ultrasound, I still had a cyst, meaning I was still ovulating and the pill wasn't strong enough for my body.

The tech told me to be careful, that I *could* get pregnant. (Thankfully, I have my tubes tied).

If it had've helped my cycle- I'd still be on it.

Thank you all for the posts,

I am just not so sure of not have a period at all. A short one would be nice!
