I wasn't trying to anger anyone in my reply...my son was actually logged on...I'm older (37, and a returning college student)...I've been VERY familiar with locks of love through friend who have lost their hair because of Chemo, and because a very dear friend who passed away, her daughter who owned a very "prominent" salon here in Charleston, SC decided it was her calling, after seeing her mother reduced from a gorgeous head of hair to a beautiful woman in a turban, decided to devote her salon to the "Locks of Love" cause...she now supplies the most beautiful hair in our area to the organization to make wigs for those who have lost their hair..not just children, but anyone...(to release a little more information)...sometimes, the children are the ones who accept their baldness a little more willingly...a woman who is 50, has been unbelievably attractive all her life, might not accept it that way. I grew up prosperous...Because of decisions I have made, my children do not have it so easy...I have tried to teach them the value of a dollar...do not believe just because your parents are "well off", that you, too, will carry that silver spoon with you forever...your grades might not be as good, you might not be what companies consider "front desk worthy", and you might just fall in love with the "wrong person"...don't knock anyone because of where they shop...or because they accept charity...I have a great-grandfather, his last name was Roebling...he built a pretty little bridge in Brooklyn, and sailed to Savannah, GA on the Black Douglas (a 130-foot schooner)...his son, who lived until 1983, had a black woman working for him simply because she made the best hot fudge sauce he'd ever had on his ice cream...he donated much of his good fortune to ocean research, and we didn't complain...he never "touted" what was handed to him...I can understand. I see too many people (ummm...can you say "paris hilton"?) who never have to understand what hard work is all about...to never have to do your own dishes, wash your own clothes...even shop for yourself...never be that way...there's simply no joy in it.

I was just trying to say, it gets on my nerves because you will see people with these huge houses, nice cars, living VERY comfortably, and yet they are shopping at Salvation Army because they are trying to save money.

It's just like, What? Your getting all this expensive stuff, but as soon as you hit clothes, you have to save some money? It just kind of defeats the purpose.
