Fingerprint scanners rarely have problems. Most of the problems relate to a person pressing too hard on the scanner (very common), or they get a locker that was recently opened and they don't use the scanner at all (fairly common). Occasionally the sun will glare on to the scanners, causing them to read poorly, but that is the least likely.spotowner said:Do not rent the lockers at UNIVERSAL. We used the ones at the Mummy I think it was the 5200 number ones. The reader would not read the fingerprint. It was Saturday and the park was packed. I felt really bad for the attendant as he had to open the machine to unlock the door. I stood by while DS/DW took a ride and I watched the attendant open almost every area of the lockers. You can wear a small fanny pack. put your hat through a belt loop and place other things in pants pockets. I would not rent a locker for the rest of the time I was there. We would split up and use the FOTL. This is probably Universals biggest blunder.
This is so true, DM. I can't tell you how many times we've been in the locker line at ROTM or MIB behind people who cannot get the scanner to work insisting that it's not reading properly. I'm talking 3 or 4 people in line ahead of us and then we'll FINALLY get to the front of the line only to have no problem whatsoever with it. I guess it just takes a little practice to know how much pressure to exert on the scanner, but it certainly is frustrating to be waiting in the line knowing you could open your locker just fine if you could only get to the scanner station.the Dark Marauder said:Fingerprint scanners rarely have problems. This is true, but it is less common.Rash said:The lockers CAN be the problem - it's not always the user. I had a locker in Feb. that absolutely would not recognize my fingerprint. I am not a clueless techno-phobe. Believe me, I tried every possible method several times to get it to work. The attendant was right next to me, and he agreed it was malfunctioning. He finally opened it for me (can't remember how).
Exact same thing happened to DD16 last month. Unfortunately, we had gotten to US early hoping to get some stuff done, but hitting Mummy first proved to be a problem when we couldn't get her stuff out of the locker.Rash said:The lockers CAN be the problem - it's not always the user.
