Lockers inside parks?

Does anyone know if there is ever a time when lockers are not available, or 'sold out'? We tend not to arrive until the afternoon and will be in the parks on 12/30-1/4

Just wondering if you had any luck on those dates. We are hoping to stash carryons on 3/24 in the late morning.

Honestly, we only used the locker for Halloween party nights, I would leave our costume in the locker when it got close to 5 we would go change. Jackets, hoodies can be tied around your waist. If you need more gear, wear a backpack. Or take less to the parks.

They have the new locker systems in all the parks now.
They are all located at the front of the parks.

1. AK they are past the tapstiles on the left past guest relations near the bathrooms.
2. MK they are past the tapstiles on the right next to the wheelchair/scooter rental area.
3. HS they are past the tapstiles on the Right next to the stroller/wheelchair rental area.
4. At Epcot you pass under Spaceship Earth on the right side they are near the Bathrooms.

At Magic Kingdom you can get a locker before the actual park opens since the lockers are
near the Wheelchair/Scooter rental station and you have access to that area 1 hr prior to the actual opening of MK
since they let ppl in before the park actually opens for the day now. I have had dining ressies at 8am when the park opens
at 9am and was able to get a locker before going to my breakfast.

At the other parks the lockers are all inside the parks so you have to wait till park opening, unless you have a breakfast ressie.
I've been using the new lockers. I always used them before as well.
It was nice to be able to pay for a locker once and be able to park hop and still
be able to get another locker at another park.

With the new lockers I don't believe you can do that. The nice thing is there is no more key deposit.
All the lockers now use a number password to access your locker that you choose when you rent the locker.

How do the sizes compare? I saw a review about the ones outside Epcot that looked pretty big - big enough for a carryon. I am hoping to avoid a trip to the offsite hotel before the parks. Strangely his employer didn’t want to change him from the convention hotel to the Poly for my comfort and Disney convenience while he is hard at work…

Thanks in advance.

Whatever you do, DO NOT FORGET THIS! or more importantly, exactly which locker is yours. DH both did last Oct! He was in a rush and didn't pay attention to what he was doing. The new lockers were quite new too, less than a week the CMs told us. They didn't have any idea at all what to do when someone forgot which locker was theirs. There's no way to look it up, they even called the people who installed it. We spent a couple of hours trying to get his frickin' bag "out of hock". It wouldn't have mattered all that much but he'd come straight from the airport and it was his carry on bag with some rather important things in it so he needed it. I had everything he'd normally bring in his usual carry on bag already in the room in my suitcase, so this was an unusual situation but the main lesson is, know your code. Unless something has changed and they've learned how, they can't open it for you. The CM could tell us what lockers were occupied by looking at a report so he tried pretty much all of them with the code he thought it was. Turned out he remember the entirely wrong wall for his locker.

The coin operated luggage lockers outside the park at Epcot are not even remotely the same as the ones in the parks. They are at least twice as large, if not more. These are the only lockers large enough to hold an overhead bin sized carry on
The coin operated lockers outside the park at HS are smaller, much closer in size to the lockers located inside the parks.
DH was able to get a full sized backpack in the locker at HS, so it's not small, but it is not large enough for a carry on suit case

I can't imagine you'll find them sold out. We have been able to find lockers late morning, near Christmas, when crowds are much, much higher than they'll be on 3/24. There's no way to predict of course, but I would be surprised to find them sold out.

So the description of the "new" lockers sounds a whole lot like the ones I've been using at DLR for years.

I take it they were different before?

@AngiTN Thanks for the heads up! Because of your experience, I immediately took a photo of the screen when it said my locker number then I also took a photo of our actual locker.

The locker was tricky at first. You can only open it while it flashes green.

Overall, I have no idea why we never rented one before. It was so nice to have a place to leave our sweatshirts, drinks, purchases, etc....

Would definitely use them again on our next trip.

Thanks for all the tips. It helped greatly.

I noticed along with the ticket price increase, Minnie van price increase -the locker price has also increased today.

Anyone know the new price?

The lockers outside of DHS are toast. A few weeks ago, I accidentally showed up with a tripod that was too big to fit inside my backpack (aka against Disney rules) and tried to stow it here so that I wouldn’t have issues with security. The lockers were broken/no keys/key payment spot missing altogether. In great disrepair. It’s possible there were a few working ones which folks were already using - but I definitely wouldn’t count on these anyways.

(In the end security didn’t say a peep about my too-big tripod, so I just hauled it around with me, but I wouldn’t risk it again!)

I hope you sent GS a note

I hope you sent GS a note

While GS might find the info interesting,
GR would be a more effective department to alert.

(Since we're discussing the broad topic of "luggage handling" I had to say it.) ;)

I hope you sent GS a note

Sure did not. Pretty sure there’s a note in my Lilo file that I’m a complainer... based on the reception I get anytime a CM has to access my file. (Ironic, because I’ve only sent complaints a couple of times about particularly egregious stuff.) So, I hold my tongue.
