Tell me if I have this right....Been reading the HP and locker threads but some of it is old.

If I have anything other than a hip pack, I will need to use a locker for several of the rides at both parks (no Hulk or RRR for us FYI. I know they have strict rules).

Hats can stay on heads or we can sit on them / hold them?

Lockers can back up the line at FJ (is this crazy locker back up still a thing? We have EP but would like to do the line at least once. Could do it for EE though.)

Is there a creative way of keeping an interactive wand with you to avoid lockers, if in fact they are going to be a pain.

If FJ is the only problem locker location, my thought was to do one EE day starting with Olivanders and the shops and the next EE day with a FJ ride (not using EP and enjoying the castle, and using the lockers).

I'm with a 9 year old, and HP is the main focus. There is EE at US both days we are going and we at RPR with park hoppers. We travel pretty light, but a small backpack for wand, water bottle and sunscreen would be nice. I will reconsider if needed though.

I’m not sure but to be safe I would just put it in the locker

This is not a big deal. Lockers get crowded but just wait until the crowd clears and always head towards the back of the lockers. Everyonone congregates around the front lockers even though there are clearly many more lockers spread out.

Don’t worry about the lockers and you really don’t miss much of the castle when you use EP.

We brought a backpack with water bottles and we each had a wand (my daughter is 7). We never had a problem with the backpack or a locker. Just don’t follow the herds, read the instructions, and listen to the TM....there are more lockers in the back.

For the the Hulk coaster and Rip Ride Rockit coaster, everything needs to go into a locker -- no bags (including hip packs) and everything needs to be out of your pockets. The only exceptions I've seen are park and Express passes.

Also, the locker space in FJ is very tight. It's probably best to send one person from your party to get and stash the stuff in a locker. No need for your whole party to stand and watch one person get a locker.

Also you can go through the store where FJ lets out to get in to the locker area...

Hi we have had the interactive wands the last two times we visited and there is no creative way we could find to keep them on us and them not get damaged. We used the lockers for them and our other stuff. I am not sure of the hats I never where them in the park, but I do see a lot of people sit on them if there might be a problem.

I don’t find the lockers to be as difficult as others do. Head to the back of the locker areas; people tend to clump up at the front. Don’t let the child do the fingerscan; voice of experience here. Their fingers aren’t big and it makes it difficult to open the locker later if you can’t get it exact.

The TM do look at the guests in line and let you know if you have a bag or some thing not allowed in the hands free ride
They will send you to the lockers if need be

Yes one in the party can handle the locker
That person can catch up with you in line

It’s just me and the nine year old, so we have to stick together.

People mentioning splitting up the party are referring to bigger parties. Or to groups where the kids are familiar with the line and wouldn’t mind the parent running off for a minute. Just understand that the locker area at fj is small and close in, so she needs to stay very close or stay back towards the entrance and keep out of the way while you stash the stuff. :) I do recommend having her help remember what bank of lockers you used. Kids have great memories!

Universal newb here....I take it that everything out of pockets includes wallet from front pockets of shorts? Is this only for Hulk and RRR? I've read other threads about required lockers for FJ and Gringotts that mention hands free so I'm trying to understand the difference.

I've never had coaster ride issues before (inversion, speeds or vertical drops) but a nothing in pockets policy kind of makes me nervous about the intensity.

We were there last year and we did not have to empty our pockets.

RRR and The Hulk have metal detectors, so anything you have on you including wallets, phones, coins and so on will have to be put in a locker. No bags allowed at all on those two rides.

Lanyards with EP and tickets are fine. Always a good idea to tuck your lanyard in to your shirt if you’re wearing one.

I wear a three prong clasp waist pack for FJ and Gringotts and as long as they don’t interfere with the harness on the seat they’re fine........

Yep, it definitely depends on what you have in your pockets! I don't use a lanyard, so I had my EP, ticket (needed for Hulk locker), ID and a credit card in my zipped pocket, which was fine. Not sure they would permit a bulky wallet even if it had no metal. What was in your pockets?

I went on the metal detector rides with a smaller size wallet in my pocket.

wallet, comb and $$

We find both Forbidden Journey and Gringotts locker areas to get very congested. Last trip, which was right before Labor Day when parks were slow, I even had difficulty finding a locker bank with availability at Gringotts, Never had that happen before.

If your 9 year old is holding anything, get that item from them before going into the locker area. I went with my 11 year old by ourselves last Memorial Day weekend. It was just much easier for me to be holding everything. If I had problems finding an open locker terminal, with DS near me, I would have him look around for one while I did the same. Don't let it stress you, but FJ and Gringott's are a bit crazy for the lockers.

I’m curious about this too-not because of the ride itself, but because it’s only my daughter and I, and we both wear glasses. (Contacts are not an option). What do my fellow four eyed travelers do with their glasses? Are they fine to just wear as normal?

Glasses are absolutely fine.

My husband and son both wear glasses as never have a problem on the coasters with them.

Some use croakies an eye glass strap while others don’t use anything for the coasters

Have not read anyone losing their glasses on a ride
