Lockers at AK

Are there lockers outside of Kali River? If so, how much do they cost? I think I remember our friends using them a few years ago. My son is only bringing one pair of sneakers this trip and I don't want them to get wet.

The lockers are by the main entrance. I don't think there are any near Kali. I think they're about $7 or $8 to rent.

There is only 1 set of lockers in the park. They are in fact near the front entrance. There is a small bin in the center of your raft to hold small items-- like camera's. It isn't made for a bunch of backpacks.

If you will be taking a backpack on then you'll have a small chance of getting it in the center console. However, we have found more than 1/2 the time it's just not large enough to accomodate everyone's on the rafts items. So we bring a plastic bag and throw our bag in that just for the ride. It usually stays pretty dry.

I do the plastic bag thing too, but his sneakers won't fit in a bag!! Maybe I'll bring a garbage bag...that might keep them reasonably dry. Thanks for your help. I was sure that there were lockers by KRR, glad that I didn't count on that.

How old is your son? Would you be renting a stroller? If so, leave the sneaks in the stroller, though I don't know if they will let you go on barefoot.

We head down on 8/15 and will be doing AK on our last day. I plan on wearing my Tevas that day. We'll also put a big garbage bag in our pack. when we do Kali towards the end of the day, we'll put our pack in the bag, wrap it tight, and make sure we get it in the bin.
