Locker info

How about a phone inside a holster that's attached to your belt? Based on this thread, I'm guessing that the phone would still need to be lockered for RRR, Dueling Dragons and Hulk -- sound right? Would the holster itself have to go into the locker too?

Would think a metal detector might catch you have it with you if you try it on RRR

Others might have more experience than I did on those rides

I was sent to the lockers when I tried to hide my phone in the hulk ride

Dueling Dragons had metal detectors and workers with wands when we were there (June 2015) and they were stationed about halfway through the walk up to the ride...a lot of people were grumbling when they had to walk back to the lockers near the entrance.

If you do riderswap will they let the you through since there will be someone to hold the items and then switch off?

We saw that a lot last year.......RRR was the worst.......the signs were clear and TM were telling everyone nothing in pockets, no wallets and such.........but so many folk with attitudes to TM despite being told the rules........

Yes lots of grumbling by folks going back to lockers.........

If you are doing child swap for rides WITHOUT metal detectors (Gringotts, Forbidden Journey, etc) then you just let any worker know that is trying to direct you to the lockers, and you can go on. No lockers needed for child swap at those.

However, the rides WITH metal detectors, (RRR, Hulk, and Dueling Dragons) no one can have anything on them except a lanyard or ball cap (you will have to sit on your cap though.) They do this for everyone's safety, as once you are past the metal detectors you are out of sight from workers until you get to the ride. Anyone not riding could hand anything to a rider, and the workers wouldn't know. And sadly, people do do that...trying to get videos of rides, etc.

We did child swap at Dragons this past summer, and I remarked that it was sad that they didn't put the metal detectors further along the walk, as there are some great photo ops in that line, especially one of the Ford Anglia's that was used in the movies. But even if you swear you aren't riding, you can't get past the metal detectors.

So glad I read this through as we are trying to decide this too. My biggest problem is that I cannot stand to be out in the sun without sunglasses and a hat. My prescription glasses have snap on shade that would be no problem to put in a zip pocket for rides, but my hat probably won't fit. Will I be allowed to sit on my hat on all rides? I will not go on any of the rides that require a metal detector as I am a wimp haha

My husband has a very bald shiny sun attracting head :D......he keeps his hat on most of the time. But for these rides they go in a locker.

Not sure what rides you will do, but on Jurassic Park ride they tell us to take it off too.........hats can fly off during the drop.........we attach them to our waist packs on that ride. Someone once put their hat back on once the ride had started and they told her to remove it over the tannoy........they do watch.

Dr Doom they make you take it off too. The Mummy, we attach it to our waist packs, but that's inside anyway.......

I have light sensitive eyes, so I try to keep my ball cap and sunglasses on as long as I can. Like I said, Dragons, they let me sit on my hat (sunglasses were in the locker.) I've not ridden RRR, just went through the line (still had to use the locker) but the line was inside/under roof, so I didn't try keeping my cap that time.

Every other ride, I wear my hat constantly, until I am told to secure it...the workers are good about letting you know what you can do with them :)
