Lock off/Dedicated ?

Please explain to me what Lock-off and Dedicated rooms reserves. are? I've seen these terms quit a bit and not sure what they are

A dedicated 2BR has 2 separate BR's in 1 villa. A 2BR lock-off has 1BR in the main villa and a studio (connected by a door) with another BR. The studio also has a bathroom 2 double beds, little frig, microwave, sink area. The lock-off gives you a little more privacy. You can close the door and be completely separate from the main part of the 1BR, living area,kitchen.

A lock-off 2BR is comprised of a 1BR and studio connected by a door between the two- which, when unlocked serve to offer the same amenities as a dedicated 2BR.

The lock-off will have two entrances, a full kitchen, plus a mini kitchen in the 2nd bedroom and also a balcony off that same room. The dedicated 2BR will have a single entrance and only 1 balcony.

Some, with small children, prefer the dedicated villa, with no 2nd exterior doorway for the children to worry about.

Both are great accommodations.

Thank You, We will be staying in 2 studios in Oct. with adults, The lock off feature is something to consider if we take teenage nieces down in March

Now that my kids are older, and on total different time schedules, the lock-off has allowed them to really enjoy their vacation, (from noon ‘till 2:00AM) while me and momma can have our coffee on the deck at 6:00AM and crash at 9:00PM (on a good night).
Go with the dedicated unit when you have young children or teens. OBTW, I am so happy that we no longer have teens.

Another thing to note is that there are a number of "dedicated" studios and 1BRs at the WDW resorts other than OKW (although some mentioned there might even be a few there). What that means is that the studio or 1BR is not connected to another room by internal doors. At BWV the dedicated studios have a small day bed where the internal door would otherwise be for studios that are connected to 1BR's.
