It seems to me that at each of these resorts there is an "INN" resort as well as the DVC part of the resort. Is this correct? If so, can someone tell me what area at each resort is the DVC part?

Thanks.

The BWV portion of BWV/BWI runs along the canal side of the resort. It is the pink section in the BWV/BWI Map

And here is the BC/YC/BCV Map

Thanks for sharing. Did not realize the BW bulding was that large compared to the BW Inn, no wonder some of those hallways are so long. If you were in that far back corner that overlooks the canal, you have a got a long haul out of the building to the Boardwalk.

We just got back from BWV and it is a long haul to the lobby. Getting to the Boardwalk was easy, just walk down the stairway, come out at the canal and walk up the boardwalk rather than walk down the halls. We had our 2.5 year old daughter as well (thank god for the stroller). Honestly, it didnt really bother me that much.

At night we did the same thing - we would end the evenings with a walk all the way down the boardwalk, then just go around Jellyrolls and the dance hall - walk up the stairs and we were home.

I am sure some people would find it inconvienent - but we were fine with it.

One of the many positive benefits of Disney is the fact that you get to walk so much, helps offset all that wonderful dining on the dining plan.

If you're staying in one of the wings that surrounds the pools, the good news is that you can take a stairwell down to ground level and at least cut a little time off of the walk to MGM.

The worst rooms, IMO, are those down near Jellyrolls. Far from MGM...far from Epcot...far from the lobby...far from the bus stop. Ugh! The only benefit there (and it's a small one) is that it's the closest area to the Swan. Sometimes theme park busses will stop at the Swan first and it's a pretty short walk over the bridge.

I just had never really looked at the BW map and never realized it was such a large building. I guess unless you walk to MGM and go past that side of it, you don't get the feeling of it being so large from the front and the back.

I could definitely see where a room at the far end closest to the parking lot would almost be in MGM. But then that makes it very far from Epcot.

It's still quite a distance from MGM.

Here's an overhead map:

The PINK dot is at the southernmost end of the villas. The BLUE line traces the walking path to MGM. The GREEN line represents the walking path to Epcot.

The one upside to walking to MGM is that it's relatively flat. The Epcot walk has some pretty steep upward and downward paths--both inside and outside the park.

I traced the above routes on Google map and got the approx distances:

Green to Epcot is .46 miles
Blue to MGM is .54 miles

anyway to get a good view of Epcot without being on the boardwalk if you are staying in the BWV's. help me out here . where is the best location if you aren't lucky enough to be on the Boardwalk view

You are right, we did not realize this as much until we had someone in our group using a wheelchair.

BWV doesn't really have any rooms with what I would consider an "Epcot view." From the BoardWalk View rooms you can see Spaceship Earth and some of the higher Illuminations fireworks, but that's about it. As Mtnman44 pointed out, the BW is at least 1/2 mile away from Epcot and doesn't directly overlook any portion of the park.

There are some no-BW view rooms in a section called the Village Green which may have a view of some of the fireworks. That area of the resort is around the letter "G" on the map that Granny linked.

As for other recommendations, I've started requesting a room as close to MGM as possible. Our last stay was in a room right around that pink dot in the map that I posted. We tend to make a lot of trips to MGM, so being closest to that park was to our benefit. Had a great view of Tower of Terror from our balcony, too.

Just so people don't get too concerned about those inclines, my 86-year-old mom walked from Epcot back to BWV more than once during our May trip. Each time as we headed for the boat back to BWV she said she preferred to walk back. She managed the inclines and declines with no problem. When we had breakfast at Cape May one morning, I suggested we take the boat from BWV over to BCV but again she said she would rather walk (both over and back).

The time I notice those inclines is when we rent a surrey bike and peddle around the lake. It takes a lot of leg power to get that surrey bike up those inclines!

It's not very fun pushing two kids riding on a stroller either.
