location for macys parade?

hi, i have read a lot of the posts regarding the parade, but i have 2 questions, where does the parade travel, and what would be a good location to see it, do you think it is necessary to pick a spot and wait as in wdw?? any help is greatly appreciated!

If I'm not mistaken it should start and end at/near the Macy's facade, which is near Twister and the GB stage. I'm not sure of the route it will take yet...
