We're coming in either July or November. My main concern with July is that it will be wicked hot. I'm just wondering if anyone who lives in the Anaheim area has an extended weather calendar they use, or do you think they're all unreliable? We'd be there July 4-9, which looks like the low/mid 80's as of now. But... I suppose it could change?

No one knows, I live in CA and every week it says it going to get to the 80s...then it rains or is cloudy. So has yet to reach the 80s in most of southern CA yet

That being said last year 4th was pretty mild as well, so while it might get into the mid 80's I would not expect it to be that bad. Bring some light clothing and jackets for the morning/nighttime because it does get cold even after days in the 80's here in Southern CA.

The long-range forecasts for this year have been tricky because of the rapidly developed El Nino and the stubborn blocking pattern that has taken hold. Three weeks ago, they were calling for a "heat wave" next week. That possibility has completely disappeared.

My prediction is that July will be mostly low to mid 70s, all month. They are not expecting any substantial heat until August.

November will likely be rainy and cooler than usual.

I'll take cloudy nice weather over 90+ days anyday. Unless your at the beach its nice to be able to just enjoy the outside

It is actually perfect theme park weather.

But for people who are hoping to get some sun or spend a lot of time at the pool, it's not ideal. In addition to being chilly, it's been quite breezy as well, and when you are wet, that is NOT fun times.

Either way someone is upset

But I'd rather it be nice weather over the super hot days when many still dont have AC's/t cost a lot to run those units.

It sucks if you like the pool but if your at DIsneyland and the weather is this good where it never gets hot, I'd tell anyone upset to count there blessing. 85+ afternoons at Disneyland are not that fun so to me this is is a win for everyone but the few who want to swim and kids don't care about the weather if they want to swim they will

It seems to me that the weather out in So Cal is a month behind what it should be. We have had a cooler late May and June so far here where I am on Long Island. Sunny but just in the 70s...no big heat yet. Think we had one day where it was like 88 then a front came through next say was like 65.

It's like 6 months behind. This kind of weather is what winter usually looks and feels like for us.

I read an article yesterday that said June is shaping up to be the coldest June on record for southern California.

Wow!! You need better weather! You guys have had a rough and winter as well as spring..temperature wise and rain!

Following this thread. This is a very interesting read for me. :)

Locals are saying that it's been cooler than usual.

From Canada and I would have loved to have 70s weather for our previous trips. Those are perfect temps for my family. Even the 80s sound great.

Unfortunately, during each of our trips we experienced heat waves, even by locals' standards. Heat was in the high 90s and low 100s. Brutally hot for us. Spent a lot of time indoors and didn't feel like lining up outside for rides. Didn't get much done and our family is ride focused.

We've been experiencing yearly heat waves in our neck of the woods the past few years. Am concerned that temps are rising elsewhere also. Therefore, I'm wondering:

1) What are the "normal" temps for July & August?
2) What are the temps when you experience heat waves? Temps in the low 100s again?
3) Have heat waves been occurring frequently the past years during July & August?

Thanks for the information and help!

This website has the weather from last year and it was not that bad only reaching 79 at the highest

https://world-weather.info/forecast/usa/los_angeles/july-2022/

This year as other said we are seeing the coolest June on record in CA and unless some big heat wave does happen you should be looking at high 70s-low 80s in July

August will be hotter, so go earlier if you want to stay out of the heat

Thank you. Will check out your link. We don't plan to visit until NEXT year July / August 2024 so was just curious about historical & usual temps from previous years. With our luck, even though it's cooler this year, a heat wave will hit next year! LOL! :) but crossing fingers that we "break" our streak of visiting during heat waves.

Our "hot" season in Anaheim area is August-October. This is also our fire season.

When I say "hot", I personally start that at 85 and sunny. The sun makes all the difference. It is very strong in the summer. 85 is where I start to feel uncomfortable standing in the sun.

When we say "heat wave", that's temps above 90.

Thanks! OK ... I can confidently confirm that we were experiencing heat wave temps for previous trips ... temps were consistently 95 - 98 range with a few 100s days towards the latter part of our trip. We must have acclimated after a week because when temps dropped at night, we were actually "chilled" staying until closing. Since it was a scorcher during the day, we never thought to bring jackets.

Thank you so much for all the replies! When we were there last year it was in the high 80s / 90s every day, and I swore never to go in the summer again. We still had a good time, but the heat had a big impact on the trip.

Hopefully the "cooler than usual" trend continues and it won't be too hot.

It seems the general consensus for the summer is warm but slightly cooler than average. Hopefully no big long heat waves!

We've done just one July visit a few years ago and the weather was absolutely perfect. I'd been watching weather reports and nearly cancelled because it was showing a heat wave (mid 90s) coming right when we were going to be there. Was sooo close to bailing but thank heavens we didn't because right before we arrived that forecast changed and we enjoyed sun and highs of 78-80 for the week.
