What theme parks do you go to when WDW is just too far away?

The one closest to me is Thorpe Park. I practically grew up there. I've spent more birthday parties, school trips, and family days out there than I can count.

It was some really great rides, too,

(You'll have to excuse me, I'm feeling very clipart-happy today:rolleyes: )

This is their newest rollercoaster, its broken some world record for most number of loops, or longest, or something like that.

This is one of those rides that I'd never, ever ride

I managed to fall out of my boat when I was getting off this ride. It was not fun walking around in soaking wet clothes all day.

Thorpe Park has the highest log flume in the UK, but its nothing compared to Splash Mountain. It didn't stop me riding it 6 times in a row last time I went though :D

Tidal Wave's a really cool ride too. I think the story is that you're being rescued after a tidal wave hit an English village.

There's loads of other brilliant rides at Thorpe Park, but I just showed you the cream of the crop.

I'd love to see what other theme parks people have locally :)

:D

Hershey Park is kinda nearby which is AWESOME! A place that's closer by is Dutch Wonderland, which is directed more towards younger (elementary/lower middle school grades) kids. I still think it's a pretty cool place

Alton towers is about 1hr and a half away and is so kool. Might be going on a trip with the performing arts department. Camelot is also kool and i think im goin 4 my bday then havin a sleepover

Valleyfair--a good size park that has a few good rides. Hasn't received many new rides in the last five years.

Knott's Camp Snoopy--a small indoor theme park that is geared towards younger kids. It has some interesting rides.

Wyandot lake is like half an hour away. It's a water park w/ some rides too, but not really anything good. The water stuff is much better than the rest.

Cedar Point is awesome! I went a few years ago and I was too scared to ride any of the really good rollercoasters, and Millenium Force wasn't even built yet. But I might be going again this summer! Yay!

I've never been to King's Island, but Beast and Son of Beast, the 2 big rollercoasters there, have broken a bunch of records and stuff.

Kentucky Kingdom is only about an hour away (i'm in Lexington) I practally grew up there too. Now though it is still my personal fav. Also Kings Island is about 2 hrs. away. Don't like it much though and this isint close but every summer we drive 6 hrs to Cedar Point. LOL I love that place but have yet to ride MF. Wicked Twister is going to be awsome.

Six Flags Great Adventure is about 1 hour away from me. We don't go there very often since it's usually really crowded, but a lot of people I know always get season passes. Dorney Park is a little farther, about 1 hour and a half away from us. We usually go there like once every summer.

Six Flags Astroworld is about 30 minutes from here
we used to have season passes but we never go anymore...its just soo yucky and dirty compaed to wdw...we cant stand it!
then about 2-3 hours is Six Flags Fiesta Texas...ive never been there but we are going for our band trip..ti should be lots of fun...i lvoe roller coasters
about 3 hours away is the water parl Schlliterbahn...its been ratied like the best water park in the world by lots of things..i know the travel chanell rated it #1 and BB #2 and we are going there on our band trip too
then in dallas...which is 5 hours away there is Six Flags over Texas...i like it here! havent been in awhile though...but they haev good roller coasters

Six Flags Great Adventure is probably the closest to me. We hardly ever go there tho.

after going to disney every 2 months i would have to say i really dont go anywhere else.. if i want to go to a theme park i get on a plane and go to WDW! i know it is sad... it is 16 hours away!

I live about an hour away from a place called Wild Adventures. Its kinda like a Bush Gardens but smaller and not as many animals. They have been open about 6 years and have gone more towards the rides than animals. I have only been a couple of times but it is pretty fun! They have a concert every Sat night. A bunch of famous people come! O-town came and they did a making the band episode one time there!
