Orlando Weather; If this is your first or been awhile since you were down this is for you.
Florida is on the edge of the tropics. Florida wildlife, trees, vegetation and birds are like no other part of the country. From mid October to mid April there is no better place to live as far as weather is concerned.
From the opposite dates it is a HOT like very few places in the US. What makes it so uncomfortable is the high humidity with the ninety degree heat. We had 90s in my home state of Illinois, but not the humidity and it makes a big difference. Come out of work and you need pot holders to hold the steering wheel. Mirrors fall off windshield, headliners fall from the roof of the car. Is there a headliner repair shop where you live? Bet they would be hard to find.
Another factor is because we are close to the Tropics; the Sun has much more energy. Every time some of my Yankee friends come down I know I am in for a trip to the ER for sunburn. I get tired of hearing I never burn
Mothers: Youre the sensible ones so this is for you. EVERYONE HAS TO WEAR A HAT AND SUNSCREEN PERIOD. And that goes for macho DH. Infants need special attention from the Sun. If you are going to be at the park the entire day, I would consider child care at the resort. If you are sweating or swimming reapply the sunscreen or pick up the sport kind. Guideline I use when the Grandkids come down, one half hour in, one half hour out of the pool and Sun.
Down here you out in the Sun, get a little pink and come in. Well youre going to keep getting redder and hotter until you feel like your cooking and you are. In the guest bath I keep a good supply of pain sprays, disinfectants and medical cream on hand for my know it all northern buddies.
