This election I have not been "bowled over" by either party or candidate. Even on the dis I see a lot of complaining, name calling and fortune telling (usually on how I country will immediately sink into the voids of &$#LL if the other guy is elected) but no real suggestion to help. Anyway a couple of months ago I got involved in my local township board, simply just started attending montly meetings. I am amazed at the amount of things I can do that affect (or is it effect? I never know which one :rotfl: ) my community.

So how many dissers know whats going on in their local communities or after the elections will we all sit back and start blaming the "other guy" for not saving the world?

It has been my experience that the people complaining the loudest typically fall into two camps:

On Election Day, they always come up with some reason for why they couldn't find time to vote (sick kids, couldn't get away from work, had to make dinner and didn't have time to stand in line, etc, etc, etc).

They say their vote doesn't count anyway so they're making a statement about both candidates by not voting.

To answer your question: these people can't seem to find the time one day a year to get involved in any government. It's doubtful that they'd ever take time to get involved with their local government.
