Local anchorman (NC) drunk, kills pedestrian

I am just sick about this. I watch channel 12 morning news every morning and all the anchors had such great rapport, but Tolly was my favorite. I am so disgusted by this. So many lives ruined. Why, why, why do people drive drunk???

Yep and it's not like they can't afford to take a cab or even hire a driver when they know they will be drinking.

In my eyes it's no different then taking a gun pointing it into a crowd of people and hope that none of the bullets hit anyone.

It's sad for everyone invovled. Tolly's life is ruined. When I've seen him in person he seemed so warm and friendly. I know he was intoxicated but at 3:40 a.m. I bet he feel asleep while driving and that also contributed to the accident. So sad.

Geez.. why do they get behind a wheel and drive when they are that drunk..

One night I was at the local Starbucks and saw someone stagger out of a restaurant.. I am talking stagger. I thought, omg, he is going to get behind the wheel of a car and drive, others in the Starbucks agreed and one of the employees called the police. This person could not even walk across the street and was hanging on a lamp post......the police came and they took him away.... he did tell the police he had called a cab and was not going to drive.

People drive drunk because alcohol impairs judgment. It is very simple.

I live in the Triad and watch the morning news on 12 every day (mostly for the weather). I never liked Tolly...he seemed like a total tool. Now I KNOW he was a total tool. He destroyed many lives by his lack of judgement. What a hiney-hole!

Wow! I watched WXII before we switched to Dish. I never cared much for Mr. Carr. He seemed..emm..weird. I feel terrible for the poor guy who died and his family.

It is devstating. I watch wxii occassionally he seems like such a nice guy.

DH & I both were shocked.
