i thought i remembered someone having eaten a lobster roll , maybe on the boardwalk? does anyone know where in wdw they would serve a good one? thanks!

Captain's Grill at the Yacht Club :goodvibes

Yep!

Classic New England Lobster Roll - served on a butter toasted split-top bun with a choice of Vegetable Orzo Salad or fries $17.99

My DH had the lobster roll at the Captain's Grille during our last trip. He said it was very good, lots of lobster, big chunks, and rather oversized. I remember him finding some pieces of shell inside, which is never a good thing, but all-in-all he liked it. On the DDP, it was a good value and nice break for lunch.

My hubby took me to Maine the year before we married to visit family. Everywhere we drove, we saw signs advertising lobster rolls. I finally asked him "What's a lobster roll? Is that an eggroll with lobster meat in it?"

He nearly ran the car off the road!:rotfl2:

I hope you enjoy the ones you find!:goodvibes

I always thought a lobster roll was like an eggroll, too. Then I thought it was chunks of fried lobster like we have here or maybe buttered lobster.

Anyway, now I love them and was going to suggest the Celebration Town Tavern to OP. I had no idea that they were served at the Yacht Club.

Thanks.

:)

They usually have them at F&WF at the US kiosk. Captains grill offers them for lunch. They were fine, not bad, but not the best I have ever had.
I believe Fulton's might have it for lunch and they are also available at Celebration Town Tavern.

An interesting variation is the Lobster Benedict at the Grand Floridian Cafe during breakfast.

wow! Thank you so much for all of these great replies. i think it must have been the captains grill that i'd read about. wish i had a lobster roll right now! definitely putting this on the list. thanks again!:)

Yup, had a yummy lobster roll for lunch at Captain's Grill at Yacht Club in June. It was very delicious!!

Can't you also get a lobster roll at lunch at Coral Reef ? I thought I read that you can get that w/ lobster bisque for lunch. ( at least I sure hope so!)

Do they have them at the Coral Reef?

ETA: I don't see it listed on the menu at allears.net

At Coral Reef they used to have a lunch item that was Crab Salad on a Toasted Baguette with Creamy Lobster Soup. Of course they took it off the menu right before we went there! I was looking forward to trying it. Next time we'll be having lunch at Captain's Grille

I got to try the crab salad and lobster bisque at CR and it was very good altho not very filling, there wasnt much crab salad and a small cup of the bisque..
Never had a lobster roll b4 but God they sound good!

When looking for a lobster roll, I always have to check whether it is the hot style or the cold lobster salad style. If I recall, the one at Epcot's Food & Wine kiosk is the cold lobster salad with mayo style. It sounds like the one at Captain's Grill is the hot buttered style - yum!

It is served at the Yacht Club's Captain's Grille restaurant. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Can't wait to have a lobster roll!

Found this pic on another thread:

It is served with either vegetable orzo salad or fries for $17.99

We had the lobster salad at Coral Reef last year (don't think it is still on the menu). It was ok but it had lots of *stuff* in it...celery, onions maybe..I am from New England so I enjoy my lobsta salad naked with just a bit of mayo and maybe a bit of lettuce ;). I do however love their creamy lobster soup. I will say that the picture from Captain's Grill does look perfect. Does it always come with fries and Wall-E?
