I picked up a couple of lobster tails at the store. They're pre-steamed and were on ice.

How would I heat them up without overcooking them?
The guy at the deli said throw them in the microwave, but I'm afraid that'd make them rubbery.

What do you think?

*Disclaimer: I'm a horrible cook. My DIS name comes from Chef Mickey's. :earsboy:

I definately wouldn't microwave them....I'd drop them into a pot of boiling water for a few minutes.

If you're having lobster with drawn butter, I'd just let them sit for a while in the warm butter....mmmmmmmm.....

at the same time.......they will get rubbery.....how about saute some butter in a pan and then throw them in and toss then around a bit.....and then eat ......yummy

Oh how correct Chef Billy

DO NOT MICROWAVE lobster. It will become very tough.I would suggest taking the meat out of the shell. Then saute it slowly in butter M'M' I can taste it right now.
Bon Appetite

excellent ideas!
I'm completely inept when it comes to cooking. But it's our anniversary, so I figured I'd surprise my DW. It's lobster tails and filet mignon tonight!
I wish it was our anniversary every night! :hyper:

You could also steam them. I used to by pre-cooked lobsters out east and brought them back to non-lobster country.
I just steamed them to heat, then cracked open and yummmmm!
Happy Anniversary!

I've only cooked some small lobster tails. I put them in a baking dish with a little water, real butter, a bit of lemon.... covered them, tent-like, to keep them from drying out. Popped them in a hot pre-heated oven.... They were PERFECT... yummy!!!

Now I am HUNGRY!!!

Welllll.....When I'm dealing with pre-cooked lobster, I like to cut it up in bite size chunks, put it in little plate/bowl thingys, sprinkle some bread crumbs over it, pour some butter over that....maybe some dill weed, fresh lemon juice.....Then slap it under the broiler for a few minutes......mmmmm, mmmmm goooood
