loadable visa giftcard question

with the new reloadable visa giftcards can you use them in California or anywhere in the US? i was thinking about saving this way but wasn;t sure if could be used

It depends. Depending on who is issuing the card, some Visa Gift Cards may only be encoded for domestic use only. Such cards will have the endorsement "Valid only in Canada/Valable au Canada uniquement" on the front.

If your card doesn't have that endorsement, then you can use it anywhere in the world that takes Visa.

thanks it is a canada post one so i am gathering not lol. the little pamphlet doesn;t say
