LMT vs. aRes vs. GAT--where to buy tickets??

We're planning a trip for January, and I have been looking at the prices on the various sites - LMT, GAT, aRes, DisneyLand.

We purchased an Entertainment book yesterday, and I went online to see what their prices were.

For a 3-day park hopper ticket, for example, the cost is 169.99 plus 10.99 tax. (179.98). That seems to be the best price I can see. No shipping charge, it is a electronic ticket to exchange at Disneyland gate.

The only glitch, these tickets are redeemable until the end of this year. We'll wait to see when they load the 2012 tickets.

You know, Entertainment book rates are very good! I wonder why it isn't mentioned here more!? Great tip!

Of course they have my coveted Citypass for a discount, but yep, you guessed it, has to be used at DL first.

I called Ent. Book to see how long after you purchase the DL hoppers until they are available to be used, and she said 48 hours.

Does anyone know what the ticket prices are through Last Minute Travel now. They no longer sell the tickets on their website but I emailed them and they said they still sell them over the phone but couldn't tell me the price.

I bought from LMT for our trip next week and my receipt doesn't break down the cost for adult vs child, however the TOTAL for 5 day hoppers for 2 adults and 2 kids is $721.82.

Hope that helps.

If you buy your tickets through AAA you get free parking at the mickey and friends parking structure. Just an FYI..

I have used LMT twice and had no issues, I usually get whatever is cheaper. Also have no clue what the controversy is.

BTW, how does the entertainment book work for disneyland purchases, do you have to buy an Anaheim book?

For the Entertainment book, any one is fine. You order from their online site and they send an electronic ticket.

I just called Last Minute Travel and they did not have 2012 Disneyland tickets available yet. The agent thought in December the prices would be out.

I looked at purchasing through the Entertainment book website a couple of years ago. When I got to the final checkout screen, they had added in a whole bunch of fees and taxes that made it a very not so good deal. :sad1:

Since the posts about Entertainment books on this board said that Entertainment books added fees which made them not a great deal, but were from some time ago, I checked 2 days ago.

I went all the way to the check out screen, and they added the charge I posted above.

I think that because they send you the ticket electronically, they don't charge for the shipping cost. And so now, Entertainment book tickets are less than they were a few years ago. Sad back then, not so sad now.

That said, the 2012 ticket for Disneyland are not yet for sale on the Entertainment book website.

I'll update the costs on the board when they appear.
