LLT or Whispering Canyon before MNSSHP

We will be staying at the WL on 10/31. I have a dinner reserved at LLT for around 4:00 on 10/31 ( I couldn't get a later time), but
then I read a not so good review calling the food something close to TV dinner type food. So now I'm considering switching. I've been really interested in Whispering Canyon and thinking about switching our dinner to there. But I also read some not so great reviews on Whispering Canyon. It is in our hotel and I thought it would just be so easy to eat there.
So, I'm really torn on where to eat.
It will be a birthday dinner.And I will have an 18 month old and a
very picky 8 year old. My 8 year old will not eat anything listed
under the dinner menu at LLT. I was going to try and special order
chicken tenders for him. We will be doing Chef Mickeys, so doing LLT for the characters is not a big deal.
I'm looking to find out what restaurant would be the better choice.
And has anyone eaten their recently. How is the food? And how are the deserts?

I say go for an early PS at Whispering Canyon since you want to try and it's at your resort!

I wasn't really impressed with LTT food either. It's Stoffer's mac and cheese for example.

Thanks, I'm really leaning toward Whispering canyon. LLT is such a hot ticket on Halloween night, I guess because it is right in the park.

Yes, it's always a hot ticket mainly because everyone gets excited it can be booked so early and because the characters wear halloween masks. But I'm not crazy about the food.

I see nothing wrong with an early dinner/late lunch at your resort and then heading over to MK!
