I'm starting to monitor Genie+ and Individual LL on the app to get an idea of sell out times.

Whenever I check Star Wars Rise of the Resistance (including first thing in the morning and mid morning) , it's been showing Not Currently Offered.
  1. Normally, does this indicate that Genie + - or Individual LL is sold out?
  2. Is something up with Rise of the Resistance? As it seems to always show that when I check.

When a ride shows "Not Currently Offered" that means the ride is sold out for the day. Rise is the one ILL that routinely sells out before offsite guests even have the chance of buying it (and I assume Guardians Cosmic Rewind will be the same). Rides do come back up from being sold out so it's good to keep checking the tip board. On my May trip I saw lots of rides come back up including the paid ILLs such as FOP and Mine Train. I was even able to grab Slinky despite it being sold out early in the morning.

I also use a site called Thrill Data which tracks wait times and LL availability for rides (not just at WDW but other parks as well). Here is Rise:

Every day he updates the previous days average wait times as well as when the LL's are sold out.

Thanks so much for the links.
Wow...good to know that Rise of the Resistance sells out so fast. Will definitely be purchasing right at 7am then.

I used time.gov on my iPad to time when to purchase the ILL$. I got the times I wanted both times. I then waited for the 7:11ish drop for G+ to get Slinky Dog. Make sure that you've purchased G+ before selecting your time for the Genie+ rides after you get Rise.

FWIW, Rise is the only ride I purchased an ILL$ for and it was worth it for me. The standby queue is insane.

Thank you. We have added Genie+ already to our tickets (due to the upcoming changes) so should be good there. Am thinking we'll also purchase for Avatar (and maybe the new Epcot ride if ILL$).

What do you mean by "waited for 7:11ish drop for G+ for Slinky. Do they release earlier times then vs what they release right at 7am?

Yes. When I looked for both RotR and Slinky last week at 7 AM, both were showing me times after 5 PM. I waited for later to book both, got RotR for 11:40 AM sometime after 7:10, and after 7:20 Slinky time had come down to 9:25 AM.

Also, we had planned to rope drop ToT but it was closed in the morning. I did not jump on a LL for that and it was showing sold out by 11AM, but by occasionally refreshing during the afternoon I got one. Don't give up if something shows sold out.

Looking at the app right now (1:19 PM), Slinky is showing a 2 PM LL available, ToT a 1:45. They do come back if they are gone at some point. And 2 minutes later they are both gone again!

Yes. Slinky was booking out into the late afternoon right after I got Rise at 7:00 am. Disney drops new times right around 7:11 and I was able to get a 9:30 am return time. "Pin" the attraction that you want to book on the app so you don't have to page though all the other attractions to check the return time. Swipe down on the tip board to refresh the times.

The two hard to get G+ rides in DHS are Slinky and Tower of Terror. Only one drop elevator is working for ToT right now and the lines are crazy long.

After booking my 7am Rise for this past Sunday morning I was staring at the dilemma of Slinky at 2:30p (which I didn't expect to still be there) and ToT at 11:30a. I took ToT as I had looked at previous day wait times. Slinky is good, but if we were going to standby it or ToT recent data indicated Slinky could be had for less wait time than ToT - especially at certain times of day.

That said, our HS day was the only one of our short trip that we got Genie+. It's almost mandatory to know what current wait times are for the previous day or two in order to make a good decision on your G+ or LL$ selections. I always check Twitter for @wdwwait to see the previous day info. Had a pretty good day using it and the 120-min rule where we ended up with:

* wait Slinky 50m at park open
* $$ Rise 11:20a
* LL ToT 12:00p (posted wait was 110min)
* wait M&M Railway 40m
* LL R&R 12:30p (posted wait was 90)
* Savi's workshop 1:45
>> Park hop to EPCOT
* LL Test Track (posted wait was 65)
>> Park hop to MK
* LL Splash 6:50 (posted wait was 50)
* LL Jungle Cruise 7:30 (posted wait was 85)
* LL Mansion 8:45 (posted wait was 30)
(fireworks start)
* wait Space 25m
* wait Thunder 10m
* wait Thunder 5m
* wait Splash 30m

Getting 6 high demand attractions with G+ is only possible by constantly setting timer for 110 min on phone and/or looking for more LL's after tapping into a ride. Also knowing when wait times drop off, such as during fireworks or near end of night can leave those rides open for later.

Also, I might note... it seems there's this new thing at Haunted Mansion where people feel the need to speak out loud every word of the attractions narration. Please stop. It's really annoying. We get it. You know all the words. So do I. Don't ruin it for people who are there for the first time.

</ end rant >

Thank you. I monitored ROTR and Slinky the past two days....and both different but they did both sell out.

Yesterday, Slinky was still available at 8:30am (but for 5:40pm return time). It did have an earlier return time starting at 7:12am. ROTR was available until 8:30am and then gone for the day.

This morning though...ROTR was gone already at 7:03am...so very quick. Then re-appeared at 7:05am (I missed the time when it sold out but was gone by 7:40am). Slinky on the other hand was gone by 7:08am. It reappeared only for a very short time but then gone.

So from this morning, waiting on a better time for Slinky wouldn't have worked. Makes me think to just grab the first one that comes...and not gamble. It's crazy how quick these two go!
