Does anyone have the LL Bean Messenger Bag or any other type of LL Bean Bag? Have you actually used it in the parks? Can you give me some advice or feedback?

We're going back to WDW in April for the 3rd time since 2004. I tried two different kinds of backpacks and didn't really like either of them for various reasons. #1 - you have to take off backpacks when you ride on attractions. #2 - I couldn't easily get to my camera when it was on my back.

So I'm looking for a bag that doesn't stay on my back and can be accessed easier. I am looking for a medium sized bag. Not too small so that it fits my boys autograph books, my camera and a few small things, but not too large.

LL Bean carries quite a few bags, including the Messenger bag. I'm so confused when I look at them all. I look forward to hearing some feedback on this. Thanks!

I have this bag :

I occasionally use it in the parks, it's comfortable to carry around, but I would say it's necessary to actually take it off on many rides. The strap can easily be swung around so you wear it to the side or front, and on some rides that may work without actually taking it off.

It's funny that you shared this bag because I had my eye on it, but really wasn't sure about it at all. I had wanted to know if you could just swing it to the side. I'm so wary of buying another buy that I might *have* to take off, but this one is still on my list of possibilities. Thanks again!

Not LL Bean but what a wonderful bag, Overland Donner. I just got it and love it. Just thought I would posted it if you want to take a peek.

Thanks Mrs. Disney Ron! I had never seen that bag before and I'm so glad that you shared the link. This is exactly why I started this thread. I am really contemplating this bag now. So you just wear it over your shoulder and it works well? Ahh my next problem would be which color to chose? :scratchin :rotfl:

If you do decide on the Overland Donner bag, goggle it! Many places offered different color options. I wanted the daisy lining so I was torn between black or red. I opted for black because I plan on using it as an everyday bag.

I have loved it, it is so easy lugging my 5 month old DS around. I love being able to wear it comfortably across my chest, but when shortened it also looks nice as a regular shoulder bag...very versatile!

Happy bag hunting!

I ordered the Overland Donner bag just yesterday (read about it on Disney Ron's thread!)

Just wantd to say that if you are planning on ordering the Donner bag, I found a pretty good deal at Shoebuy.com. If you register with them, you can get 10% off your first order, then you can save and additional $10 with discount code save10. They offer free shipping too ~ the price came out to $37.75.

I had looked at the bag at REI and really liked the size and different compartments on the front. I used to use a small messenger bag from Old Navy, but it doesn't have the nice compartments like the Donner and everything was all jumbled around inside. It was hard to find things.

Also, we used to always have a stroller that we could put our rain ponchos and a small cooler in for extra snacks. Now that DD is almost 7, we no longer have the stroller and I will need to fit snacks and ponchos in my bag. The Old Navy bag was definitely not big enough for all that.

Thank you so much for posting the link to the other thread and for telling me about the great deal on shoebuy.com. I'm very interested in this bag and was even going to spend $50 on it. lol. I *hate* carrying drinks, so the water bottle holders are going to be great. I was cracking up over the poster in that other thread who was calling them diet coke can holders. Amen!

I really can't decide on color, though. Such a decision!

Thanks again!

I did it! I ordered this bag. I went with the red w/the black & white inside. I almost ordered the lime green, but went with the Disney colors instead. Plus, I just love red!

Thanks so much to Mrs. Disney Ron for turning me onto this bag from the get go and thank you so much to cepmom for the link to shoebuy.com and the advice. I love saving money! $37.75 rocks! :cool1: Now I will stalk the UPS man or the Mail Man. Geesh I don't even know how they are shipping.

Thanks again ladies! Woo Hoo. One more thing to check off my "Disney To Do List". :thumbsup2

I see that the OP has made a decision, but I just wanted to put this info out there for other people who may be interested in the overland donner. A cheaper (and bit bigger) version of this style bag can be found at lands end

Yes, this is technically a diaper bag, but just toss the changing pad and it's pretty much the same as the donner and a fraction of the price! Works for me, but then again I have a toddler:yay:

Wow, that is a nice looking diaper bag. If I knew about this bag before ordering the Overland Donner you would have confused me even more!:lmao:
