We are staying for a week this coming April. Our touring habits tend to be rope drop, afternoon break, then back to the parks for dinner and fireworks.
Now we used to be planners so much as following busiest parks and ADR for every day. Just so much as we tend to know what park we will be in and we park hop.
This FP+ booking is driving me bananas. Now I am an over analyzer anyway. So trying to have a crystal ball and make the best choices 60 days out is INSANE! So far for what my methodology is to make the best of rope drop and still take our breaks. Then book our FP+ for the evening hours.
Touringplans is doing a decent job of mapping this all out for me so I am hoping with some conservative fudge factor I have a decent schedule.
I guess my gripes are:
1. The amount of time I am spending trying to book these FP+
2. The dread of not making the best of it.
3. The fear of being able to make changes on the fly if we have to changes plans or jump to a different park.
The tiering and the lost ability to hop and use Legacy FP is starting to make me worry.
I feel that FP+ is taking all the spontaneity out of our touring. We used to be so nonchalant about it all and used to do all the other stuff like fishing & boating. I am so afraid of losing all that extra time that we used to use to slow down.
