I was just wondering if any of you used the Living Seas for your reception? What's your honest opinion of it? Did you spend much to decorate it? Was it dark? Would the venue swallow a group of 40? Thanks!

I do have some pictures if you would like to see them. Disney recommended it to me but quite honestly it did not flip my switch. We are going to have around the same number you do, but I am not interested in not having any light as it is going to be a day time wedding. If you PM me I can share the pictures of venues that I have, as well as what I *think* I am going to do!

I am having my reception at the Living Seas this fall and my group is the same size is yours. It *is* a bit dark in there, but this gave me the opportunity to use candles on the tables (I love candles). It is such a unique venue with the fish swimming by, and it's kind of cool to have the reception in a place you wouldn't normally be allowed in. I don't think the room will swallow a group of 40. There are six people to a table, so right there you are at 6-7 tables. Floral is also covering the tables we don't use with a floor length ivory table cloth to help the fade into the background. Also, a portion of the room will be used for our cocktail hour. I'm biased, but I love the location. If you can do a site visit to see it, that would be best to make up your mind.

Hope this helps!!

We're a group of about 40, and we're using the Living Seas, too. One thing I love about it is that it does have an evening feel and also proximity to Illuminations so you can continue your reception with a dessert party. The room itself is also beautiful and unique, in my opinion and requires minimal decoration... we're just doing centerpieces, cake table, etc.

Oh... and by the way, the room has been redecorated since the pictures that were posted above.

Hi twojo... where did you find the pics and description of the Living Seas? I went onto the website to try to find other locations (pics and info) and couldn't find it... :confused3 I was interested in seeing what other locations were available to see... thanks. :goodvibes

Hi there equidae. Yes, I know... those pics at the Living Seas in the link were during an actual wedding though... it really gave me a feel for what it was like... some of the pics on the disneywedding site don't give very good pics... :flower:

We had our reception there and loved it. We divided the area into 3 sections. We used one for the pre-reception snacks/drinks. The main area we used the upper level for tables and the lower area for dancing. Our group was about 30 people and felt very comfortable, not too big but not crowded either.
