i'm still trying to decide where to host my reception!
i'm having about 40 ppl attend. I originally wanted the reception in one of the GF ballroooms because i DEF want a dj/dancefloor but it's so large. Ive also looked at the whitehall but ive heard its too small for a dance floor and that the dancing would have to be done outside (which would probably be wayy too hot considering im planning on a march wedding!)..so i'm also looking into the living seas. The only thing is, my wedding colors are red and im having red roses...the theme has NOTHING to do with the blue color theme found in the living seas. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY PICTURES OF THE LIVING SEAS DECORATED???...POSSIBLY EVEN IN COLORS OTHER THAN BLUES???

We just had our reception in the LS in March and our color scheme was pastel colors. Really changing out the linens makes a big difference. We kept the blue underlay and put white on top, but you could completely change the linens all together. All of the wood accents really blend with whatever you have. These are some random shots, but I wanted you to be able to see the tables.

Out of curiosity what day in March are you looking at? We were married on 3-3.

I highly recommend Living Seas. We outgrew our first site at the American Adventure Parlor. I never originally considered LS when we had to make the switch, but when we liked Ariel's and it was taken for our date we went with LS. Our guests loved it, people were always looking in the aquarium.

we havent set a date yet but we are looking at the beginning of march...just like you!
we have gone there at that very time before and the weather was beautiful! especially considering our honeymoon will be spent at the theme parks and we dont want to deal with the weather being unbearably hot!
thanks so much again!!

i had my reception at lss as well. my accent color was yellow. i think red would be lovely in there, though like vanessa, i would recommend changing the linen's. here are some pics

Well, maybe we might be at WDW during your wedding. We are planning to go back for our 1st anniversary. The weather on our wedding day was 75 degrees and beautiful. It was even nice for our dessert party that evening. A few days that week got a little chilly at night, but we were blessed.

I don't think I have seen all of those pictures from Caryn, I love the shot of her and her DH in front of the tank.

Our colors are red and white and we're having our reception at the LSS. To solve the problem -I accented in azure. The teal/aqua color in the LSS - or should I say, WAS in the living seas. They now are using Navy, so I'll have to change out the linens anyway. I think when you meet with Rose, she'll make ANYTHING work! She was phenomenal

We had our reception at Living Seas last June and used red as our accent color. Here are a few of our photos (courtesy of the wonderful Randy Chapman). Hope these help!!!

Wow, great photos! I only saw it empty in person so it's fun to see it "dressed up" for a wedding! Thanks for sharing!

Great Photos Ladies.

I will have some photos of LS. Not sure when you need them by. Our wedding is May 19, 2008.

oh that would be awesome if you could post them!
my wedding wont be for a year or so!
thanks everyone!!

Hello everyone! We are looking into booking the LS and I'm wondering if anyone had a DJ and dance floor? That is one element I will not sacrafice for our reception!

I second the dancefloor question! I'm looking to have my reception there in April 2010 (i know it is forever away:laughing: ) I am so glad you ladies posted these pictures! I've been looking for some. Does it cost a lot more to have the linens changed out? I was planning on bright spring colors! TIA!:flower3:

FigmentFan ~ i noticed you used the disney snowglobes (which i collect btw) as your centerpieces. Did they charge you extra to bring those or just the set up fee? I've been told I need to go through disney floral for all my bouquets and decor but really want to bring my own. TIA! :flower3:

I third the dancefloor question! I love the LSS and i've heard it can be done. I'm just hoping we won't look like sardines dancing around :dance3:

we did not add the dance floor but had the dj - we had plenty of room for dancing, but felt the dance floor would make people feel narrowed in on that one spot. we had people dancing all over and we had 80 guests. plus the dance floor is extra and why can't they just dance on the carpet?

That is correct that you have to use them for your floral and most of your decor. I was able to bring in the snowglobes because that is something that they don't offer, but the petals and candles, etc. all came through Disney. I also brought in my own placecards, but they counted those as a favor.

For the dancefloor, you don't have to pay to have one put down because the carpet is great for dancing. Your planner can give you a diagram of the layout. Parts of the area are narrow, but there are large open spaces. My DH and I took ballroom lessons and used the entire dance floor while we were practicing at the studio where we took them and we didn't have any problems fitting the dance into the area at the LS.
