I have a disney DVD that shows a ride in the living seas. You just get a small glimpse of it. I think the DVD is "magic around the world" or something like that. Bought it a few years ago in WDW. Not just the stupid "hyrdrolator" thing, but actual ride cars on a track that looks to be giong under/thru one of the aquaruims. Dfi and I have always been disappoined in LS and can't find anything to do in there (has disney execs never been to a ripley's aquaruim, i'd even buy the tickets for them if they will improve LS :teeth: ). Is this ride still there or was it ever there?

Don't ever recall any such ride maybe you got a "What if it could be done movie "which was probably some creative persons idea that was squashed

(so sad) I always thought the living seas were stuck on the side for a reason
really kinda lame I see more at sea world but with the addition of turtle talk with crush its coming back

Yes, there used to be a ride in LS that went thru the aquarium. Been gone for several years though.

Thanks, it's glad to know once upon a time it was there and that I wasn't seeing things in my dvd.

There was a ride in LS? How cool that must have been! Or maybe not, considering it's not there anymore. What was it like? Anyone have info about it?

You would board the SeaCabs immediately after you exited the Hydrolators for a 2 minute ride thru the aquarium. There were windows on 3 sides thru the entrance tunnel then you went in a semi-circle under the observation deck and exited the ride just past the gift shop.

Wow sounds like it would be pretty cool . I wonder how the loading went was it a nightmare since it was only a two minute ride \
Also on side note leave it to disney to exit at gift shop ???? I think they would exit a restaurant like chef mickeys into a gift shop if they could

Yes, like others have said, there used to be a ride. It was short, not extremely thrilling, but LS was better with the ride. There are some rumors that the LS might bring the sea cabs back...this time with a Nemo theme. I'm not sure if this idea is for the current refurbishment to LS or an idea for the future.

I don't remember loading to be particularly difficult. The ride was pretty cool - made LS much better than it is now which is boring IMO. My kids like the Nemo stuff, and we haven't seen Turtle Talk with Crush yet, but I think if you have ever been to a big city aquarium (like Chicago's Shedd Aquarium), LS is pretty disappointing. We usually skip it. Adding the ride back would be a definite improvement.

I was so glad to see the pictures of the blue cars. I always remembered them from my first trip to EPCOT in 91. My husband always told me my memory was wrong, but I am glad to see that it wasn't.

The loading was fairly efficient, but it did take almost as long to load as it did to ride. Also, I know quite a few people apeared to think the ride was the end of the attraction. They got off and walked straight out, without stopping to see anything.

Actually, the sea cabs are rumored to be coming back with a big surprise included, sometime in 2006. Those of us who are there in late November, early December should see the track being worked on and we will report back! Rumors are that the sea cabs will be going through the actual aquarium somehow. You know Disney - if it can be done, they will do it. There was a big artical on that d troops site about it.

During my last visit, the tour guide of the "seas aqua tour" at the living seas told me that it was closed down because of the limited capacity of the ride causing backups in the qeue. The last time I remember riding it was January 1997. I also seem to recall times when they bybassed the hydrolators to speed things up.

I remember that ride from when I was little! I heard the Living Seas started going down hill when they lost thier coorperate sponsor (was it at&t? I cant remember.) I am so glad that Disney has started improving it again! I hope it only gets better! :earboy2:

I remember the seacabs. It was a short ride and not too thrilling. They basically rode you around a loop for your first look at the aquarium. You do get the same effect as walking around the aquarium area yourself. Although I considered it hardly a "ride," I did think that it was nice in that it separated this attraction from any other aquarium-----a little. I too am happy to hear that they may be improoving this attraction. I think it needs it.
