Hi! I finally started a wishbook (yay!) and have a few questions. I looked at the living seas lounge and don't really see a dance floor. Has anyone had a reception there with a dance floor? I really love the atmosphere there and think a reception would be cool there. I also think the venue stands on its on without a need for too much decoration. The Coral Reef was the first FANCY restaurant my dh, me, and his kiddos went to on our first trip to WDW as a family. I think it would be special. Also we will be having a kind of small vow renewal (30-40 at the very most) and I don't want to be swallowed up in a too big venue. I want cozy and comfy, beautiful and elegant, yet enough room to cut a rug with our guests and minnie and mickey too! Any advice? Also centerpieces for this venue would be nice to see.....

Well you can pay to have a dance floor there but it isn't really necessary. Also a dance floor "confines" your guests to dance in one area and if the dance floor is full then some might not dance where as if there is just a big area for dancing then everyone will join in.

We had our reception there, with dancing but did not add a dance floor. We had the dinner tables on the upper level, the lower level had the cake, DJ and dance area. We had no trouble with the floor and shoes for anyone on the carpet. You are right - it needs very little decor, we added hurricane covered candles with evergreen rings that had a couple roses and red ribbon (December wedding) and it was very cost effective and looked great.

Thanks! I just love the pictures online. It looks like such a cool place to be. Your decorations sound great. We are planning for december 2010. That would be a nice centerpiece idea.

plenty of room for dancing - we had 80 and there was space....don't add teh wooden dance floor its not necessary.

centerpieces - keep them small and simple. we used glass bowls...water with blue seaglass, and floating roses, with a few candles.

I think Diana (Happylalagirl) had her reception there and trust me-- from the video there was A LOT of dancing!!:goodvibes

Our EM had suggesting Living Seas a while ago for a possible reception location. We have since chosen the Boardwalk for our reception but the brides here were good enough to help with pictures and information about receptions at the Living Seas.

Very unique location and from the information they shared I would say a dance floor is an unnecessary expense.

Hope this helps.
