I was wondering if anyone has lived off site during their CP? I've found a couple of apartment complexes very close to WDW and it seems like it might be cheaper living in those than in Vista/Chatham/Patterson.

I know I wouldn't get the same experience as in living in the dorms on site but we have a cat and there is 4 of us who would all be doing the program together.

Thanks guys. Sorry I have so many questions!

I have a friend who lives near Disney World and she's not living in CP housing. What's the name of place you found? I am looking for a place near Disney that's decently priced and allows animals...

I'm looking for a place in the area as well. What is the names of the complexs that you found? I'm also looking for roommates as well in case I can't find a place of my own.

Hey! I am also on the hunt for an apartment and a room-mates. I just got a performer job and I don't even know whrere to begin to look for a place to live. If you guys find anything good or are looking for a room-mate let me know!

We are currently looking to fill a bedroom in a 5 BR/3.5 BA, 2,200 ft² house. We're located in a quiet suburb south of US-192 between Kissimmee and Poinciana. The room that is opening up is pre-furnished. It contains a bed, dresser, desk, and TV stand. All you practically need to bring is you, your clothes, and some bedding and you're good to go!

It is a downstairs bedroom with close proximity to the downstairs half bath, however, you will have to share one of the two full bathrooms. The house is a great choice for Disney Cast Members, only a 7-10 minute drive from property!

Three of our residents are Disney Cast Members as well. The rent is $500 a month (which includes utilities), plus a $500 security deposit due at the signing of the lease. We are flexible with lease terms and lengths.

A gay-friendly roommate is a must! If you're interested in learning more, please give me a call at 732-207-5343 or message me back here.

I lived offisite as did DDs BF (he lived with us). He and I both had to submit a request with information about whom we would be living with and that we had reliable transportation, addresses, phone #s, etc. It wasn't a problem for me at all.

Do remember that electric bills are shockingly high (at least it was to me), especially in the summer months. Then there's water, cable, internet, etc, that has to be added on to the costs. There are deposits (including for pets) to be made and you need to be mindful that your landlord could be in foreclosure and you won't know it until the process server comes a'knockin' (BTDT, cost us a pretty penny with a lost deposit, plus having to pony up a whole new set of deposits for the new place). Just to give you a point of reference, we are in a 4BR/2BA house and our total housing costs run about $1750/mo. then there's about $60/month in gas just to get to and from work. It all adds up...:teacher:

that's why staying at a place such as mine is a good fit, as im told by other college program roomates of mine. Im flexible with the lease, i cover the utilities, i furnish your bedroom, and im close to disney. so if anyone is looking, i have a room opening june 7th and another mid july.

The request process can be difficult, but I hear they've lightened up a bit. It took an army to get me out of the housing (I moved out about 2 months into my program). On top of the things you have to provide, which Gray listed, I also had to justify my moving.

Living with immediate family is a big help! I was moving in with my DH and Gray had her DD. So just a warning, you may have to present your case.

Also, someone said this before but I do not know if it's true, they mentioned you have to arrange "off campus" living before accepting the role.

I'm also looking to fill a room. It'd be a room in a 5 bedroom house (only 4 would be occupied though), sharing a bathroom with 1 other person. Takes me about 20 minutes to get to work)

(I don't want to sound too much like an advertisement, so contact me via PM or email e.abrams@gmail.com , and I'll fill in some of the details (exact location, price, etc))
