We are here:cool1: Got here yesterday afternoon at our hotel for one night (Kyriad) really impressed with hotel, free wifi in rooms :thumbsup2 tea & coffee facilities, comfy bed, very clean too. Check in was quick although only had one person in front of us, imagine it could be bedlam when busy!
Dumped stuff in room, had a game of air hockey whilst waiting for the shuttle, was whipping DH's butt until the last mo!! I love air hockey:lovestruc

Weather absolutely awful, rain rain and more rain:upsidedow happy to be here but YUK! Went into Disney Village and round the shops which were packed even though the park was still open so quite surprised. Had Tea at Annettes, so much for me saying we were going to go somewhere we haven't been before:rotfl: DH had the Mega Burger and I had the Be Bop Burger very tasty and then shared a Ben & Jerry Choc Macadamia Sundae, ahh I also had my first cocktail of the trip too can't remmember the name now though:rotfl: All very reasonable with the shareholders discount came to E44.45 Then braved the rain, walked up to Hotel New York and a Blue Glow Tini mmm mmm yum DH had a Pina Colada:lmao: bill came to E22.50:scared1: But hey gotta do it at least once right:laughing:

Walked back through village(still raining) to the shuttle and back to hotel and bed, quite tired s'bin a long day as we had set off from home early.

Am awake WIDE AWAKE AND EXCITED as this morning we go and book into DLH:cool1::cool1::cool1::banana::banana::banana::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

More later :rotfl:

Ok so am sitting in main street lounge after just realising we can get free WiFi doh! This isn't easy to type on my phone so Will be very brief. Drizzle so far today Minnie is behind us doing meet & greet, I get mad with her as she always waves at my husband! Will catch up with all the details at the weekend have enjoyed rides and food, way too much food! Eating at walts today if open then off to Dunkirk later then home tomorrow.

Woo hooo!!! :cool1: You're there!!!

That Minnie is a cheeky one, you will have to watch her! :rotfl2: Glad to hear that the cocktails have started already :wizard: hope the sun shines for you soon! :thumbsup2

Enjoy Walts :cloud9:

Mon 27th contd.........

Checked out of the Kyriad, was really impressed with this hotel for the aforementioned reasons and the staff were very friendly, would definately go back there for a night before checking into disney if we were to go the day before again, or if we were to get an AP (even DH mentioned this!!:))

Drove to DLH not quickly enough if you ask me :rotfl: Checked in & got the park passes, had to go back after 3pm for key to room, so with that left the luggage in the car and scooted off to Salon Mickey for breakie:cool1:
Was impressed with the reception area took plenty of photos in the time we were there, going to see about posting some if I can work out how:rotfl2: Had read about the smell, got used to it eventually but at the start of our stay found it rather unpleasant but I'm a fussy thing about scents as some give me chronic headaches, actually that would explain the headaches I had whilst there doh!!

Salon Mickey was great, knocked on the door just after 9am, am guessing we were the first in there that day. Had a scrumptious pastry Pain au chocolat style but with nutella in the middle and almonds and choc on the top YUM:thumbsup2 and a hot choc so throughly chocked out!

Finished our breakfast and off into the park, forgot about asking to be let into the park via the side door so ended up going throught the turnstyles:rotfl:Guess I was too excited:lmao:Off down main street and into adventure island and booked a table for 1pm at the Blue Lagoon then onto potc ride I LOVE THIS RIDE:worship: had messed about in the shop before trying on lots of hats and generally being daft kids:rotfl2: We wandered about for a while looking at the various wait times bearing in mind that it was only about 10am and the park was packed 45 mins on btm:confused3 we had waited about 30 mins for potc longest I have ever waited, I hate waiting to get on rides so am more likely to try somewhere else and go back later, had forgot about the fastpass I had in my bag:rotfl2: Next we went on The steamboat then looked at the wait for phantom manor again 45mins so walked over to discoveryland and Captain EO which we went straight into, had really wanted to see this which I really enjoyed despite it being very dated and flakey storyline, just liked watching MJ.
Came out of Captain EO and we were 10 mins late for our reservation at Blue Lagoon:scared1: Whizzed over there and asked again if we could sit be the water, had to wait a wee while then we were seated by the water:woohoo: We both ordered the 'west Indian Caresse' which was a jamaican black pudding (YUK) some veggie thing (ok) Chicken skewer (tasty) Spicy muffin (too spicy for me) prawn wrapped in pastry (yum) lime dip (yum) deap fried meatballs (? didn't try them!) DH had the crispy Mahi mahi with prawns which he enjoyed, I had the veal with rum sauce and lemon mashed potatoes very tasty, DH had the trio of desserts which he loved sorry can't remember what it was called or what was in it except for some ginger ice cream, I had a chocolate fondant type thing, very nice. The starters were a bit on the cool side but they were very busy mains were spot on as were the desserts. We enjoyed the meal here and would go back again.:lovestruc

We left the resturant and went on to btm with our fastpasses from the hotel, however this was between the time of 1 and 3 when you can't use them doh:lmao:we (I) had read it the other way round! anyway the CM was very kind a let us on regardless with a lot of giggling and merci's from me:rotfl: This btm beats the one in Florida hands down same as potc imho.

We then decided to go back to the hotel and get the key for our room and get unpacked. I took a few photos of the room and loved the borders of all the characters on them and the mirror in the bath room with snow white and the seven dwarfs on it. As we were on the ground floor near to the pool and spa we had a terrace with table and chairs very pretty although we never used them as it was a bit too cold and miserable to sit outside. After unpacking we went up to the bar area and sat and had a coffee (very slow service but they were quite busy) then had a mosey around the shop then back to the room and bed. Slept quite well eventually after the kids from hell in the room next door wore themselves out:mad:

Tues 28th

Got up and breakfasted in the California Grill side, we were seated by a window looking straight out on to the castle, made my day:thumbsup2 so soon already:lmao: went into Disneyland park for about an hour then scooted over to the Studios. Went straight on to RC Racer which I really enjoyed (DH too big for this one) then DH and I rode Slinky Dog which we thought very good for little kids, had a look a Parachutes but wait of 45mins so decided to go back later. Walked over and went onto the Tram tour, no more Jeremy Irons so the tour doesn't make any sense now well to those who haven't done it before.:confused3 Then we bit the bullet next stop TOT:scared1:why oh why oh why do we do this:rotfl:I am fine until I sit down and am belted up then the doors close and there is no escape, then I remember:lmao:I never know if I am going up or down in the end:rotfl: and scream well I was a little horse to say the least and vowed to NEVER go back on it, till the next time anyway:rotfl2:
As motors was due to start and we haven't seen it for a few years we thought we would go watch it, enjoyed it this time, think we have done it too much in the past;) We then tried to get into Stitch Live but they had a technical difficulty so came back out to see the wee Alien outside:banana::banana: He was watching a young lad who was shall we say having a few off moments so he walked over to him and hauled him into a big bear hug, how lovely is that:lovestruc Kinda wished it was me as you can see from my username I LOVE STITCH:rotfl:
By this time we were a bit hungry so thought we would try Walts, so back into the other park and yup Walts was closed, so we thought why not try Agrabah Cafe as we hadn't been there before, so off we go and it said open at 12 was now 1 ish and not open:confused3. We then went and wandered to lucky nugget and silver spur but as we were going to Buffalo Bills later thought we should try somewhere else as the food would be very similar. Eventually we ended up at Plaza Gardens, the last time we ate there it wasn't that good but this time was very tasty and plenty of choice(Mussels, roast beef, pastas, chicken, fish and seafood, salads, veg, rice, cous cous, potatoes and soup also plenty of desserts various tarts, flans and cakes) Afterwards we went and rode the buzz ride, I was really rubbish this time and DH beat me big time, much to his amusement as it's usually the other way round. After this whooping I needed a rest so walked to the edge of fantasyland and sat down on a bench nr small world, CM's were starting to put the ropes up for the train parade so decided to wait for this. The doors from discoveryland into fantasyland had been closed by this point but the small door opened and out came tigger and tweedle dum & tweedle dee who kept us royally amused for about ten minutes, both tweedle dum & dee were trying to limbo under the ropes:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: the characters went back and the train came along Yay saw stitch:cool1:and took some photos fortunately today we didn't have rude people about as yesterday with the main parade we were at the top of main street and had been waiting in our spot for about 20mins when a foreign man (would definately not preface that with gentle) put his hand on my shoulder, pulled me backwards and shoved his daughter in front of me:mad:My DH saw this happen as he was a few steps away from me I looked at him he said are you ok to which I replied not really as was fuming and amazed that anyone would have the audacity to do such a thing, well the foreign man saw my DH who shall we say is on the large side, grabbed hold of his daughter and whizzed off. Over the time we have been going to DLP we have never had anything like this happen, I know there are problems with some nationalities being rude, pushy and smoking where they shouldn't be, but I have never been manhandled before well I know this trip was one where we were going to do different things but not to that extent :rotfl:
Well after the train parade we took a wander back to the hotel for a napette as our sitting at Buffalo Bills was the 9.30pm one. After our snooze we went off to BB's with our french website tickets, got a drink and watched the warm up guy and the english woman (hasten to add I too am english)who was having a go at the waiting staff as her kids were tired and she wanted to get them sat down, well for one thing it wasn't half nine yet and if you have children surely you should take into account that if you are also doing emh it's rather a lot to ask from the wee beasties so having a go at the people doing ther jobs and telling them to shut up and stuff is not really on if you are the one who's messed up there schedules grr:mad:
Well thankfully we were seated rather quickly and our clown guy was fantastic and had us in fits and were amazed at his balance as he kept standing on the posts of the fencing. We had seen this about 5 years ago so had forgotten most of it and we had a brilliant time, the food was plentiful chilli to start, chicken, sausage, ribs and potatoes for main, bread, cornbread and nachos on the benches too. Apple crumble with ice cream for dessert, then coffee and petit fours and a choc coin. Needless to say we couldn't eat it all as we had pigged out at lunch:rotfl2:oohh and beer or coke refills too. Would definately go again but would leave it a few years. So after this we walked back to the hotel and went to bed and slept like a log.:)

Sounds like another great day! I can't (oh well, yes I actually can!) believe that man pulling you out of the way. I've not had that before, but barging and pushing really gets on my nerves. I started off being polite and ignoring it, but after a while it's just too much. Due to little ones present, I don't say what I would like to, but a rather loud EXCUSE ME makes me feel somewhat better!! It makes them turn around even if they don't understand me (at which point they get a glare!) lol!!

Weds 29th

Breakfasted at about 9am this morning and were seated in Inventions, seemed quite busy & noisy but we were up a bit later, must admit it did put us off of eating there this evening and California Grill was out as we weren't to keen on the menu. Feeling full we went off to the studios to watch Animagique & Cinemagique, then stitch live which was all in working order today:cool1: The first time we saw stitch live DH was chosen to be space prison guy much to my amusement:rotfl2:still hoping to get picked as stitch's girlfriend but this time a young girl got picked to be his friend so perhaps it's changed:confused3 We then went to Playhouse disney we love watching this for the kids interaction, seeing the wee ones having a jump about and their little faces, nearly makes up for not having our own kids. There was one little girl who was rather overcome and decided that she was going to get a whole lot closer to mickey & co and took off at high speeds with her mum whizzing after her towards the stage:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl2::rotfl2: soooo very cute.

Salon Mickey was calling so we walked over and the door was opened by a more cheerful lady today and DH & I choose the scrumptious pain au chocolat again mmm mmm:rotfl: and me on weightwatchers ha ha ha ha ha:rotfl2: This time we remembered we could be let into the park from the side entrance:lmao:

Potc, btm, phantom manor oohh just remembered we rode Indiana Jones on the monday Doh:rotfl2: last time we rode this it was backwards although at the time I didn't realise this until we started moving (clue was in the title really 'Indiana Jones Backwards') so you can imagine my shock:rotfl: sooo very dim sometimes:rotfl2:

Went back to the studios to see if the queue for parachutes was any less than 45mins it wasn't so went and split a burger and fries wandered around for a while then decided to go and have a swim back at the hotel. Stayed at the pool for about an hour had a swim first then jacuzzi, had sat in the steam room but figured that knowing the pool temps can sometimes be a bit on the cool side came straight out:lmao:I must just add it wasn't too cold but much warmer in the jacuzzi.

Back to the room to bath and get ready for dinner. Off we went to Disney Village and decided on our old faithful King Ludwigs, so much for trying different places huh:rotfl2: DH ordered the huge Blanche think it's about 2 pints worth, I would have been on the floor:rotfl: and I had the castle fantasy cocktail which makes my knees all juddery:rotfl2: every time I have this and every time all it takes is a few sips man it's alcoholic:cool1::rotfl2:
We had the flamche to start, DH had the Choucroute Royale and I had the Choucroute with Ham Hock, very yummy. For dessert DH had the apple strudel and a coffee, and I had the Cafe Gourmand which had a chocolate fondant, Pistachio mousse with a cherry in the bottom as always when there is a cherry about, well...................:rotfl: (It makes DH laugh anyway), and a small piece of apple strudel, all very tasty and this was our most expensive meal at 89 Euros. We always enjoy this resturant so it was kind of fitting that our last proper dinner should be here. Then wandered the shops bought a few things then back to the hotel mopeing about having to go home tommorrow:sad1:

Thurs 30th sep & Fri 1st oct

Last day in disney today:sad2:
Didn't sleep much last night as hadn't packed so had that on my mind
Didn't get the turndown service last night:mad: more angry about the lack of chocolate!!
Got packed, on our way to breakfast put some of the luggage in the car. After breakfast (california grill side) back to our room to check we had everything pick up the last bits and checked out, finished loading up the car and off to the parks.
Forgot to mention yesterday on the way to breakfast we saw Geppeto in the corridor so I got my camara out to take a picture, well Geppeto saw this and started running towards me, I was motioning that I wanted to take take his picture to which he waggled his finger at me and next thing I know he's taken my camara off of me, put his arm around me and took a picture of the two of us:rotfl2: This really made me laugh and proved that good and memorable things do happen in DLP this is something I will remember for a very long time so THANK YOU Geppeto:lovestruc
Well it was raining this morning as we went into the Studios, so we swung by Parachutes and it was being closed down due to the rain apparently it is not able to work during a lot of rain because of the breaks on the wires (imho seems rather a large oversight and I figure the ride being out quite a lot) So we went to watch Art of Disney Animation, by the time we came out it had stopped raining so we whizzed over to parachutes which they were drying off waited about ten minutes and were on Yay Really enjoyed it and screamed my head off (I can be thrown around and go upside down as much as you like but up and down stuff at speed and I'm a wuss:lmao:) By the time we got off the times were already up to 45mins
Over the past 4 days we had done all that we wanted to do in the studios apart from watch the stars in cars which was just about to start so how's that for timing, took some more photos then realised we would just about make one last trip to salon mickey if we were quick.
Grabbed a hot choc and some water and got let out the side entrance. we then went to walts and had lunch from the express menu DH had the duck and I had the steak which I sent back as they cooked med/well and I had asked for med/rare. We both had the cafe gourmand very lovely and with our disc all worth it.
We meant to leave at 2pm but by the time we had done a few more rides and pootled around soaking up the SUN WHICH WAS NOW OUT it was 3pm:rotfl2: So we had to hustle on out and drive up to calais getting some sandwiches for tea on our way and to our hotel for the night which was the cottage hotel in calais, word of warning here if you want to sleep do not stay there, the beds were so uncomfortable it got to one point at about 2am where we were seriously considering checking out and trying somewhere else. Left here at about 8am and decided to get some breakfast from McDonalds which was 24/7 but was shut! We ended up at Auchan and waited for it to open at 8.30, whilst we were sitting in the car we were parked by a pet shop, so we were looking in the window when we saw something moving in the window, lo and behold two chipmunks had escaped and were running around!! Would have hated to see what a mess they had made overnight let alone have to clear it up, but being the sort of people we are we told an Auchan employee about them (as he was right outside) he just shrugged his shoulders and said oh well! Our worry was that they would escape into the street but hey we did what we could, bet they had a whale of a time though:rotfl:
Well we had a breakfast of croissants then off to Dunkirk where we walked along the beach and what a huge beach it is and very clean although it was rather chilly but we were dressed for it. Went and had a hot chocolate to warm up and use the facilities as all the public toilets were closed. Not helpful when your busting:rotfl:. Got back in the car and drove Gravelines where we found a lovely resturant to have lunch in 'Le 116' highly recommended value for money and very tasty too, we would most definately go back there when in France again as only about 1/2 hr away from calais.
Then off to cite europe for a spot of shopping and Yay the Disney store :rotfl:where I got christmas pressies for all the little kids in the family and I treated DH to Lotso complete with strawberry scented tummy as nowhere had we seen him in DLP. We managed to get on a earlier eurotunnel so were back in England by 6pm and as Lakeside is on our way home and they have opened up a Taco Bell in there recently (one of my favorite places for a cheapie in Florida) I suggested going there for tea:rotfl2: which we did and full tummies later and yup another Disney store :rotfl2: the purchase of a Belle & Beast soft toy later and we were good to go:rotfl: We got home just before 9pm and that was that.:sad1:

We did enjoy our trip, we wouldn't stay at the DLH again as it was really expensive even with the offers and imho all you are really paying for is the location and hot breakfast which isn't that great to be honest, I am quite happy with the breakie at the cheyanne. I think I would like to stay at our original choice (Hotel New York) next time, and oh yes there will always be a next time:lmao: Next year is our Tenth Wedding anniversary and DH really surprised me by saying (whilst only being in Disney for one day, Pixie dust at work here I'm sure) We can go to Florida again next year and as it well be a special year we could do a Disney Cruise:love::lovestruc:worship::banana::banana::dance3::dance3::woohoo::woohoo:. So I am tentatively looking around, we have quite a lot going on so it may not happen as we are hoping to have our dreams realised with having a baby, hasn't happened yet but fingers crossed :wizard::wizard:
