We went to JIKO last month and I decided to see what all the fuss was about and ordered the filet...I'm still wondering...! They have some amazing dishes but the filet is certainly not one of them IMO.

So sorry your celebration dinner was a bust. I'm so happy y'all enjoy FF as much as we do!

I'm beginning to understand the lure to the Poly (although it kinda' leaves me cold....) it is all about the views!

WAH! I'm so upset your Anniversary meal was botched - when you have a great meal with a great server on this trip, and you are relaxed and having toms of fun with the Toddster, chalk THAT up as your anni dinner - this one doesn't count!

I hope tomorrow is better - (and that elves have come and decorated the Poly while you sleep!)

I'm heading to Kona in a few weeks - never been there. Looking forward to that and the dessert party. We're going there on the night of our MVMCP!

The view is just so relaxing..and the lounge seems to be empty all the time so we can really chill out and enjoy it. I cannot wait to try Citricos on Saturday night, really looking forward to that one. Today should be a great day!

Could be...it was just such a strong potent taste that it overpowered everything...not fond of it at all.

It may be an off night...the last time we had it the filet didnt taste like that at all....but the cut of meat was super tender and melted in your mouth, it was the heavy smoke taste that ruined it...I hope you have better luck when you go. As we speak I am waiting for DH to wake up so we can get some grub from the lounge...I think my appetite is back

Glad I am not the only one! I was one of the people raving about the filet but not anymore..Bluezoo is the winner of the best filet!

I will def answer to that name I have to tell you the first time we stayed at the Poly we were not as wowed as we are now...this is our 6th stay and will not be our last, the resort is just amazing and the staff are great! Todd's zipper broke in his brand new shorts and the CL staff sent it out yesterday for replacement and they said they will put them back in our room today for us...how is that for service?? And we took the boat back from MK yesterday and they had music and dancing around the volcano pool and it was just so fun!

I cannot wait to see if the resort is decorated this morning...I hope so! I am looking forward to Kona lunch today and of course our Citrico's dinner on Saturday night!

Good morning! I am watching the Today show and listening to DH snore...can it get any better than this? Well I sure hope so because I want to hit the pool baby!

I already promised him he can take an afternoon nap so we can stay at MK until 12 am! Lets see if that really happens....I mean the staying out late part, you know the nap part is gonna happen!

Nicki Sorry to hear that your meal Jiko's wasnt so good...at least the salad and dessert were (that salad look delicious!)...I hate poor service...I think that service is part of the whole experience...

There is nothing like being at WDW during the holidays...everything just seems extra special!

On our last trip we ate at Citricos for the first time in a very long time..and we loved everything...the food...the atmosphere and the service! It is now on the must do list for future trips...


BTW the food in the Poly lounge looks great..lots of options...especially in the evening...

So sorry to hear about your meal at Jiko. The last time we were there in Oct we found the service to be lacking. However, the food was still great. Sadly, no meal there has quite lived up to the first one. Of the signature restaurants I've tried I would rank them:

1. Victoria & Albert's
2. California Grill
3. Jiko/Flying Fish
4. Yachtsman Steakhouse

In terms of food I think that Jiko is the most interesting in terms of food outside of Victoria & Albert's. But the service is hit and miss as is the consistency.

So disappointed that your anniversary meal wasn't all you expected it to be. We have a ressie at Jiko in December and it's one that we are (still) most looking forward to---so I hope we aren't disappointed. We will all end up getting entrees, but the appetizers are what I'm really excited about trying. That salad and the little donuts look GOOD!

Hopefully the rest of the dining experiences are better. Can't wait to read more.

So sorry about Jiko...sounds like you had our server, was his name Omar? We had a terrible meal in June as well. the apps were good and had they had that dessert maybe that would have been better. we got the filet as well and felt the same...bad flavor, gummy mac and cheese and nasty sauce. We won't be going back...but Boma was fabulous. Loving your reviews as always!

Nicki, I have to tell you that I love your reports the first time I found the dis you were doing one, and that was what started my food porn/review addiction, so thank you very very much for taking the time to do them. I was really sad you didn't make it to fulton's, I was really wanting to see more of their yummy food. I also have a quick question about them, and if you don't mind thought I would ask the pro, I want to eat there, but will only be able to do it at lunch, and nothing on that menu really does it for me, do you know if I could order off the dinner menu? Thanks for posting the things for sale at the Grand Floridian, Nicki! I think those cute little chocolate boxes with truffles will make the PERFECT gift for my inlaws! I am meeting them for the first time on this vacation!

Oh no! Jiko is the one place that I was really looking forward to! I bet they use Liquid Smoke and I'm guessing they used a little too much! Boo! Now, I'm debating canceling our res. We are paying OOP for dining this trip and I do not want to waste money on something that I will not be happy with!
