I've been in lurking mode during your review (which is fantastic, by the way) but had to come out and comment on how sweet that gift was! What a fantastic surprise to find in your room. There is still magic out there!!

We used to be HUGE fans of SAI, but the dinner menu really wasn't cutting it for us any longer. Lunch looks great though, I may need to try to squeeze it in somehow, somewhere.

That was so sweet. In the past few weeks since I have joined DIS, I have been moved and inpsired by everyone's kindness. I truly believe us Disney fans have a kindness gene embedded in us and we can't help but to spread the love! :)

You deserve it, Nicki and Todd!

(And Dizneet -you are the BOMB!)

Jaime

Nicki, you are very welcome!

We call this spreading the magic! There is nothing like a little surprise ;) waiting for ya when you get back to your room!

Enjoy!!

That is the nicest thing ever! Thank you again!

What a wonderful surprise!! Seriously that's one of the nicest things I've ever seen. There are good people out there! :lovestruc

Arent they the sweetest people?! It was so unexpected!

Hi everyone! We were going to watch the fireworks from the Poly CL lounge but the places was loaded with people, kids running and screaming and bumping into us so we said forget it and came back to the room. We have seen them a few times this trip so I am fine with missing tonight.

This morning I was going to make it to Kona breakfast if it killed me! We were up and raring to go and made it there late but they sat us right away. The upstairs to the Poly was packed with people, Ohana was out of control, every single seat to the right of the restaurant was taken, people standing around, in front of Kona, by the back stairs...just a sea of people. Kona was busy but there were a lot of open tables.

Dinner014-4.jpg

We shared a pressed pot of Kona coffee, you can get three cups out of it and it is the most delish coffee in all of WDW, how they can make it creamy texture is beyond me but they do! DH had OJ and I had the Lilikoi Juice (fantastic!)

Dinner015-4.jpg

Dinner016-4.jpg

Dinner017-4.jpg

Butter, ketchup, syrup and strawberry sauce for the Tonga Toast

Dinner018-4.jpg

DH had the Tonga Toast (the only thing he ever gets at Kona) and bacon. The bacon was crisp and perfect he said, the TT was out of this world, how he can eat so much of it is crazy but he loves sweet breakfast-y things. For me, well I can take 3 bites and that is enough...I am hyper enough without adding Kona coffee AND sugar!

Dinner020-4.jpg

I had the Kahuna Platter but the When Harry Met Sally variety...such as I would like extra pancakes instead of french toast with the butter/syrup on the side, make the eggs moist, do not burn the potatoes, just give me sausage and ham hold the bacon :lmao: AND they got it all correct, I didnt have to send it back :thumbsup2 The food was perfect, delicious and I ate the entire thing, well DH helped, he had half the eggs, potatoes and the ham because I dont like it. So we hit the pig trifecta, bacon ham and sausage OINK OINK!

Dinner019-4.jpg

We really enjoyed our meal here, great service, wonderful food and so convenient since we are staying at the Poly. Even if we were not here I would drive out of my way to scarf down these vittles!

After breakfast I had to pick up something in the gift shop for my good friend Kathy (KatMark) and then we were at a loss on what to do for our last day at WDW. We played flip a coin this time, heads we go to the pool and tails we go to HS and tour the resorts, take a bus to WL and look around and then go to the CR before heading back to our resort.

Heads won! The morning started off cloudy but by the time we were done with breakfast the sun was out. There were 2 other older couples at the quiet pool so 4 hours we had the entire pool to ourselves, so to speak. A few families came by but they left quickly when they realized the pool was quiet and basically boring for their kids.

We had such a great time chilling out and talking and then someone's tummy started rumbling and I knew it wasnt me! Since we were too relaxed to go anywhere and we were planning on a big dinner I suggested getting salads from Capt Cooks and eating poolside...he agreed :thumbsup2

Of course since I suggested it I was the one to go and get it while he stayed in the pool!

I got a chicken caesar for DH...he really liked it but thought the chicken was very rubbery

Dinner024-4.jpg

And a chicken Poly salad for me, this was great! Loaded with blue cheese, grape tomatoes, mixed greens, pineapple, cucumbers and a light citrus dressing but I thought the chicken was very rubbery too, it gagged me so I removed it all and ate the salad, wish I ordered it without the chicken

Dinner023-4.jpg

And a side of Poly chips

It was the perfect way to spend our last day at WDW and the Poly!

I tried to get pictures of the 5pm CL lounge offerings before we left for DTD but the hoards of people wrapped around the lounge so I said forget it...its just sushi anyways

And you are a sweetie to take care of that for me, and that is why you will see what we posted on our "What to Do" thread. :)

It's just sushi, she says. :scared1::scared1::scared1:

you don't know what you're missing, Nicki. but then again, I don't do squid.

sounds like you have had a great trip - good for you & happy anniversary.

Just as we were walking out to DTD the bus was there but DH waved to him and he was kind enough to wait for us.

DTD003.jpg

DTD was slamming tonight folks, just people as far as you could see. You could not get into the Xmas shop or the World of Disney for that matter. The cute little snow scene at the bus entrance by the Xmas shop had a line about 30 people deep with people trying to get their pictures taken.

I tried to do some Xmas shopping for the nieces, mostly the younger one as the older one is beyond Disney stuff, (Come on Auntie Nicki I am 14 after all!) I was very disappointed in the Princess and the Frog stuff, it is the same stuff you can get at Walmart and Target but a few dollars more. THere were no sales going on like last year. Since our local Disney Store closed up I am not able to get the cute tees for the little one anymore so I picked up a few of those and the new Minnie Mouse with the Fairies on her shirt.

I was really thirsty so I stopped into EOS for an Iced Earl Grey Lemonade (the best non alcoholic drink) and saw the sign for the new sandwich, it looks awesome!

DTD001.jpg

We arrived at Fultons at 6:30 and we were seated right away, they were also taking walk ins but with a 30 minute wait. We were seated upstairs, never been up there before.

DTD012.jpg

DH has the Electric Lemonade and I had a Mango Mojito..both drinks were amazing. We also had a bottle of water.

DTD014.jpg

DTD015.jpg

The crab dip (fantastic!) and the super hot and crust bread with soft butter (Todd ate almost all of it!)

DTD013.jpg

DTD016.jpg

DTD018.jpg

I was going to order the salad but the server suggested a new soup, butternut squash with cinnamon croutons..oh did that give me chills or what? Ah-May-Zing! Yeah I could live on this and be happy...so creamy and smooth and tasty and sweet and savory all at the same time but very very rich. The croutons were perfect for the soup....and it was another tableside service kinda thing

DTD019.jpg

DTD020.jpg

DH had the mixed greens and endive salad with balsamic dressing, the best salad ever and I know I say that about every salad we eat but this one is the best balsamic salad :rotfl:

DTD021.jpg

When we passed by Ghiradelli the smells were mouthwatering so we decided to get half portions of our dinner so we could finally try Ghiradelli...can you believe we have never had anything from there? So Todd had the 1/2 order of King Crab claws and mashed potatoes...they were as they always are, tender, sweet and phenomenal!

DTD002.jpg

I had the one fried lobster tail with red skinned potatoes. Lobster was very lightly fried, tender, full of flavor and the potatoes were cooked perfectly and had a nice seasoning on them

DTD022.jpg

Usually we leave Fultons so full we cannot move but this time we were not stuffed to the gills but pleasantly satisfied and enough room to spare to share a treat later. The one thing Fultons does right is the crab, everyone around us had platters of it in front of them...thanks again to Kathy for hooking us on this wonderful place!

Okay...I am so drooling here now just looking at those Claws. Oh...what I wouldn't do for those for dinner tonight instead of what we had (Wendy's--although I love spending time with my baby son, Wendy's just doesn't cut it).

And you and Todd are so welcome. I'm glad that even after all the visits you've now been there you still so thoroughly enjoy it.

Nicki More great reviews and more great pics too!!! enjoyed them all....

Too bad about the lounge being so crowded...people leaving their dirty plates for someone else to clean up is a pet peave of mine...just plain rude IMO...

Glad that you got to have a relaxing pool day today ...seems like you guys got to do alot...adding the two extra days was so nice too!

It really is amazing to me too what friendships can be made with a simple common bond!!! (or two...like WDW and food!!!!) I have made some very good friends that I met here on the DIS too...

Looking foward to reading more...your reviews are just terrific!!:goodvibes

After dinner we did some more shopping and the scent of chocolate was in the air so we finally made it to Ghiradelli's. The candy side was giving out samples of the peppermint bark so we bought a bag for my Xmas candy dish

DTD023.jpg

The ice cream side of the place was loaded, the line was out the door and there were no tables to be had..luckily one opened up just as the dessert was being delivered

DTD059.jpg

DTD062.jpg

DTD063.jpg

We both zeroed in on the peanut butter sundae...it was perfect to share, just enough for us to get our fill of creamy, fudgy, peanutty goodness!

DTD026.jpg

After our treat I told Todd that I wanted to hit Goofy's on the way out to get some treats for the girls, we are watching them on Thanksgiving day so I thought they would like a special Disney snack while watching the parade...this is the look he gave me when I told him that we would be buying some more goodies

DTD024.jpg

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Over at Goofy's I was expecting a full room but it was not that busy...I guess most people were still eating dinner :lmao:

Good news guys, the Reese's Peanut Butter Cups are back as a topping but the caramel drizzle is gone

First, DH has the Holiday Turkey Sandwich in October on our first trip to EOS and said it was hands down the best sandwich he's ever had. He has tried to replicate it three times at home and still can't stop talking about having it again in December. :rotfl:

Second, that peanut butter sundae from Ghirardelli's looks awesome. Peanut butter and chocolate is my favorite flavor combination ever, I am going to have to try to put it on my list for our upcoming trip. :santa:

It is so hard to believe that a week has gone by so fast! The game plan for tomorrow is to have bell services hold our luggage and goodies, head to MK for breakfast at Main Street Bakery - for two reasons, one is I do not want to deal with the chaos of the lounge and because DH is in desperate need of a cinnamon bun :rotfl:

Then we will stay in the park all day, have lunch at TTT and then head home by 3 or 4.

We have taken a ton of pics with the PhotoPass, I always forget to give them our camera to take a pic, I will buy them tomorrow but I went online and took a picture of them that way so you can see a few, not the best quality but when I get home I can scan the real pics and upload them

Good night everyone! No more updates until after we get home and I get caught up on laundry :laundy:

:yay: I really do need to get off my fear factor and try it! Hey if I love calamari I should love sushi :rotfl2: Thanks for the happy wishes!

In Todd's words, "This place is a for sure keeper". And I love Wendys every once in a while ;)

I am so glad that you enjoyed reading them, I enjoyed reviewing for you :cloud9: We used to do WDW commando style but it is much more fun lazy style  One more day of chowing down to go!

First, DH has the Holiday Turkey Sandwich in October on our first trip to EOS and said it was hands down the best sandwich he's ever had. He has tried to replicate it three times at home and still can't stop talking about having it again in December. :rotfl:

I wish I had more time to try that sandwich but I will be eating that kind of food soon enough...turkey for weeks as my aunt is making a 25lb bird :scared1:

It was a great sundae but Beaches & Cream is better :goodvibes

:grouphug:Thank you for sharing your week with us! I will be following you from this point forward! :goodvibes

Happy Anniversry and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!:dance3:

I've been enjoying all the reviews! I think it's funny that the Cosmo slushie has made it to permanent status at the France slushie station, when it was only a festival item before. I know some people will be happy. Others ambivalent.

You're killing me with all the baked goods. Unbelievable, and I have to run that gauntlet in a few weeks!

Just gotta say Karin and Tom you guys are so sweet, what a lovely thoughtful gift to send :)

Wow great updates :) So sad that you guys are going home as I have been living vicariously through you guys at the Poly :)

Fultons looks amazing, thank you for sharing that review as me and DF are in two minds about going there. Is it better for lunch or dinner?

Gotta love Goofy's Candy Co, you could spend a small fortune in that place, or use all your snack credits :)

Thanx for sharing with us and
