Live Report: Roving Reporter in Orlando Oct 27-31 [Update: Photos Added]

Good Morning Everyone: Tomorrow morning I leave for a conference in Orlando. I'm looking forward to leaving the 30 degree temps here in Rochester, NY to soak in the 80+ degree weather in Orlando for a few days. Because I'll be in a meeting, it's not really a vacation trip for me, but I'm going to try to squeeze in a couple things for the DIS Unplugged. I have a couple of interviews already lined up. Wednesday' interview will be very interesting to me, and I have a tentative agreement for an interview on Friday that I'm very excited about.

My flight leaves at 7:00am tomorrow and I head back at 6:00am on Saturday, Oct 31st. I have to get back in time for trick-or-treating.

To be honest, I have mixed feelings about this trip. I wish my family were traveling with me. It's more fun to share the stuff I'm experiencing with my family than to see it alone. However, I hope you all will join me on the trip, and I can share my experiences with you.

Thanks Guys! You know I've done solo-trips a fair amount with having to travel for work, but for some reason I'm not so excited about this one. I really wish I could have my girls (all 3 of them: DD8 DD11 and DW) with me on this one. I'm feeling the need to have my loved ones close to me right now. I think it has something to do with this mental funk I've been in.

Greetings everyone: I wanted to let you know that, unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to come down to Orlando for DIS-a-palooza. I'm still happy to help organize this group as much as I can from here, but I'm not going to be able to attend and participate.

I'm going to have to wait until January for my alternative break week at GKTW with my SUNY/Geneseo students.

As much as I would like to go to DAP, it just wasn't in the budget. I could get myself down there, but it was getting really expensive for all 4 of us to go for just a weekend trip. As a wise man on another thread has said, we just can't always do everything we want to, and I needed to be practical about this trip.

Agreed. I want to do everything, just can't!
DAP is a good chunck of money for a relatively short (but fantastic) weekend. I am saving my chuncks of money for a longer trip December 2010.
